Middlesbrough post-match thread

What a pleasure to read Louise Taylor"s match report on the Guardian/Observer website...

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/mar/11/middlesbrough-manchester-city-fa-cup-match-report

At one point, Ms Taylor writes,

"...but not until the former had connected with Grant Leadbitter’s corner and prompted a embarrassing fumble on Claudio Bravo’s part before Zabaleta came to the rescue and scooped the ball clear."

Whereas, in the Independent, Alan O'Brian writes,

"Grant Leadbitter’s left wing corner found the head of Rudy Gestede and Claudio Bravo in the City goal could only parry the ball to his left, where it struck Zabaleta on the goal line and the visiting captain hacked clear."

"hacked"?

I suspect I know who the "Hack" is...

Good professional performance.

But why do we miss so many chances? I really wish we'd kill teams off. If we scored just 1 more goal a game from all the good chances we create we'd probably be on for the treble this season. Seems to be a lot of scuffed shots, or straight at the keeper.

But, we're through and off to Wembley! Well played City, against a shit, dirty bogey side.

At least we are hitting the target more regularly, Stoke game we had only one on target from 12 attempts.
Not saying we should not have scored more merely that we have crossed one hurdle now lets see if those on target can be converted into more goals.

I hope you made a donation young man!

When? Walked back to the station after the game, plenty of police by the pubs and around the station and I didn't have any issues. On the 1503 back to Manchester with no mither

After that I think. you know what these stories are like though. Probably a bit of verbal and that's it. These young lads like to overdo the stories a bit!

Middlesbrough were an absolute disgrace. We are lucky not one of our players picked up a serious injury. Enjoy relegation you dirty cnuts!
This.
They were vicious and for what. They were always going out.
Cynical maybe but me thinks someone was under orders from that **** over the road.

Oh yes,he told his mate to nobble as many of us as they could,it's a miracle nothing serious happened

I think the first offside one, the play had pretty much stopped when he scored so may not have panned out that way.

I thought first half we were a bit sloppy with our passing out of defence but other than that it was an excellent performance

I totally agree with you in pretty much everything you say.

We have been excellent on the whole away this season (Leicester not included) and today was another excellent away performance.

For those that have been watching City a wee while Airesome park and lately The Riverside we have often struggled.

Having said that I went to airesome park in the 77/78 season (Souness was playing for them) we won 1-2 and Asa Hartford scored a screamer bent into the top corner.

Wembley here we come.

Absolutely this.

I thought we controlled the game from start to finish today, and the only critism is we must be more clinical in front of goal. Against better opposition we won't be able to create 10 chances we might only get a couple. But you can only beat what is in front of you, and their keeper had an absolute blinder, plus I thought the Officials got both decisions for both our "Offside Goals" wrong.

I can now enjoy the weekend and look forward to the Monaco game on Wednesday night.

Come on City!!!

How were they wrong. Both were offside. Silva was clearly off for the first. Sterling was offside but only just. Both were off though.

End of the day it doesn't matter, I thought Sterlings was onside......whatever happened to the "clear daylight rule" of a few seasons ago. Great win and a cup semi to look forward to great day for us, and the alcohol is going down just fine.
