Referees/Officials

We've had some woefully bad refereeing performances against us this season. That today was as poor as I've seen, he couldn't wait to give the penalty for Liverpool.
Pretty similar to Wembley last year same teams same shit performance bottled giving Sergio a pen at Wembley couldn't give one quick enough today

its a lovely thought but sadly way off the mark.

a lot of refereeing go's on behind closed doors, we don't see the half of it.

Ok so it is bent then. That's also a nice thought and I'd like to agree if you could provide some evidence? The total inconsistency of it all leads me to believe they're just crap. Whether we like to admit or not we also get bad decisions in our favour. Except against Liverpool. And never from Clattenburg.

as I say the decisions on the field of play are but a tiny hindrance to the agenda against us. much is decided a long way from the field of play.

I think yer right, Bill. Oliver had clearly made his mind up in the privacy of his own asylum by midway through last Thursday afternoon as to how the game was gonna pan out - ignore blatant penalties for City and then award one to the dippers with the most half-hearted shout of the game.

It evens up over the season so 'they' say.

Shafted at home in our 3 biggest games to name but a few.........maybe it'll even up next season should we be deemed the team that will win the league.

Referees are shit in general I saw an advantage for WBA yesterday at 1-1 pulled back but we just get guffed on game in game out.

I am not willing to give up the fight just yet but it is finding that breakthrough.

It is clear that is going to be difficult especially when no one in the media is fighting or raising awareness on this issue. The general rebuttal is that it happens to every club, which is why it is important to identify patterns and trends and BEGIN or continue to make it aware to the officials and authority. The breakthrough will be difficult but attitudes are bound to change over time.

Well somewhat agree, there is undoubtedly a media agenda. And one from various powers in the game. All the same the penalty - double penalty - we should have had for fouls on Aguero/Sterling, and possible sending off - I'd say that was a major hindrance.

This is the way I look at it
Sky no champs league or fa cup to broadcast
Title already done and dusted for me bottom three are cut adrift.
Only thing left to play for is top 4
I'm expecting decisions going for Arsenal in the next few weeks against us

I've heard a better response, the one I usually get when I bring up the shady ref's in England is: "That can't happen in England because we're not Italy", and then I just stare at them and their stupidity while being completely befuddled as to why they're so ignorant.

While I suspect that the referees don't deliberately cheat on the field the general hostility aimed at us in the media obviously influences them subconsciously. Just too many poor decisions against us. What also irks me is the fact that no matter who were playing we always tot up more fouls and bookings than the opposition. Which considering we almost always have 65% possession is ridiculous.

What has gone in our favour ?

The standard of refereeing in the PL is actually disgraceful. Contrary to what many believe I don't think they're bent or biased. Just plain shite. Our game is awash with cash we should cast our net far and wide, pay them multiple times what they now earn, give ex players etc a reason to want the job.
Refereeing standard in CL/EL makes ours look embarrassing.

This is pretty much how I see it too. Fans of every team are awash with tales of how refs screw them over (even rag fans think they get short shrift ffs which is ludicrous) but I think these prem refs are simply just shite.

Too much money knocking around the league for these constant fuck ups, sooner video technology is introduced, the better, I couldn't give a fuck how long it adds to a game.

Midway through that 2nd half today we had been blown for 13 fouls whilst liverpool only 4!

They could have had a 2 penalties. Yaya's lunge was a penalty whereas the Clichy penalty wasn't. There are various others, there's really no point going through a full list. My point is they're shite not bent.
If you think they're all bent why bother at all?
If it was substantially proven tomorrow that the majority of refs were biased against us or that games were fixed would you even bother watching?

Some you win some you lose. Who would be a ref or a linesman ? Every man and his dog are.on there case
