Sturgeon wants another referendum

June 2021?

Over four years?

What was that you were saying about Barking?

You been at the Chum Biscuits? :)

Sorry - it is all just wishful thinking on your behalf

There is simply no motivation for the vast majority of the UK to wish for it any earlier and absolutely no motivation for May to seek it any earlier.

It is only the SNP voters that have this desire - and frankly in the UK set of priorities in the coming years they do not have any priority whatsoever.

They also have no leverage so they will just have to keep bleating on to try and keep the topic relevant in 4 years - tough job that.

We know that. But that policy could be the very thing that swings it.

She has to be careful she isn't acting exactly like we say she will.

It's a judgement call. Undermine the Scottish democratic process to that extent then Holyrood is a sham. That will lead to much gnashing of teeth up here and whose camp do you think that helps?

She may be able to make it very difficult by refusing and throwing a punch of authority.

The punch coming the other way is an unelected PrimeMinister ignoring the democratic rights of Scotland and that is very tricky.

It just is.

"......................ignoring the democratic rights of Scotland and that is very tricky.

It just is"

Well it just isn't for anyone in the 60m+ - fuck me what an over-blown sense of your own importance you SNP types have

You need to get over yourselves as we, the vast majority, simply don't give much of a fuck about your demands

Sturgeon is deluded. she has no currency, no lender of last resort, no way of paying off the sovereign debt (she said on Peston yesterday that it wasn't her problem as it had all happened on "Westminster's watch) no clear path into the EU (Spain wont allow it)

She also said that the UK wouldn't put up any barriers to Scotland still trading with us. if we have a no deal Brexit then we would have normal WTO tariffs !!

maybe the referendum should be the other 60million voting whether we want to keep them.

She could refuse, but she can't. Hiw can an unelected Prime Minister refuse an elected one who has a manifesto pledge to adhere to?

She won't refuse, she will try to set the timing but that again is a dangerous game and will play into the hands of proof that regardless what we vote for means nothing if Westminster doesn't agree.

The ref should be after the deal is known, which will obviously be before we actually leave in two years. To think that we will hang about a further two years is not going to happen.
Most Prime Ministers have been unelected when they took office. It's a moot point anyway as we don't vote for a Prime Minister in the UK.

You're only deluding yourself if you think the Prime Minister has any obligation to approve of any referendum request that is put forward. Cameron called for referendums to put an end to the debate and get a concrete answer so as to go forward. If the Scots had left in 2014 I reckon he'd have stepped down then. There is no pledge in the Conservative Government's manifesto to offer the Scottish people a second referendum, so of course she can refuse it. Plaid Cymru have been calling for a Welsh Referendum for years now.

"I think it wouldn't be fair to the people of Scotland (to grant a second independence referendum) because they'd be being asked to make a crucial decision without the necessary information, without knowing what the future partnership will be or what the alternative arrangements would look like."
Teresa May, March 2017.
And to think, people say satire is dead.......

Read a lot of this sentiment on here. Maybe you should, why don't you start a petition? Or get on to your local MP? Maybe stage a protest or a rally? Seems like there's plenty of support for it.

You know, if it's what you really want, start a debate about it.
