What sort of answer is that?

Wanting to reduce uncontrolled immigration because of the stress and costs to services in this country does not constitute a racist view it just fucking doesn't.

Its THE answer to your question !!!!!!!! I wasn't commenting on the posts and deciding what I felt was or wasn't racist. I was browsing and saw a poster said "around a third" had voted citing immigration was their big factor - coincidentally at that moment on the TV stats were read out that confirmed that figure. I thought hey thats a coincidence and posted myself stating that there appeared to be stats backing that view - that was all. Not hard to understand surely?

Read my answer lower down - I wasn't commenting on the racist content or not - just the %age quoted ffs.

Elsewhere I have been accused of being a bit of a touchy Remainer taking the banter too seriously - fuck me Leavers take anything that may question their doctrine and jump all over any poster they think may introduce any alternative views. Just to reiterate I was only commenting on the coincidental fact that as I read a post the TV covered the same point and appeared to back the stat - that was all

Unfortunately for you the poster you backed up was also claiming the vast majority of that percentage where racist!

I have just spent two hours witnessing Farage at his finest, I don't think I have heard so much sense spoken since Thatcher and Scargill went into battle, both right in a way, both strong, and both believing in their cause. I have yet to hear one remainer who has given anything but a view about an outdated un democratic Quango being the way forward despite failing for over 50 years, which tried to ruin our Irish cousins and goosestepped over Holland & France whilst trying to bankrupt Greece. This is in the name of Germany, a country that has tried to ruin Europe for 100 years for the sake of its own interests, raketeering its way round every country surrounded by hundreds of unelected cronies all sponsored by Merkel.

The EU is doomed and history will prove Farage right, now get behind your Global economy and stop hiding behind racism, immigration or the importance of the EU, its finished and so are their ideals thank fook.

Correct. 100%. Spot on.

Do we need immigration in this country? Yes of course we do but it should be the exact same procedure that already exists in other countries like Australia where points are given dependant on the skill shortage the country needs to bridge.

If we need doctors then bring them in. If we need truck drivers bring them in, Bricklayers the same etc etc.

What we dont need and what we cant afford due to chronic pressures on housing and services is economic migrants with no skills whatsoever.

Those same rules would be applied to me if i wanted to go to Australia tomorrow or say New Zealand and not one poster on here would quibble with it so why the fuck cant we do the same and why the fuck is it racist to want the same?

Heard a classic last night

'I voted for out....and now that we're out of Europe I hope they send us some where warm'

I kid you not.....
Talking to my 18 year old grandaughter, and one of her mates, a 17 year old said;-
''It'th becauth of all you oldieth we won't be able to twavel awound Euwope!''
I also kid you not.

You're missing my point, magic. Just as you object to unfairly being branded an English hater, I object to those who want immigration controls incorrectly being branded racist. Or, in other words, I'm asking you to be consistent.

Absolutely no chance of that, magicpole is the thread king of double standards and hypocrisy.

It's racist because the remainers say it is. You should know that by now.

Having an open door, no questions asked immigration policy for the white nations of Europe but coincidentally at the same time making it much more difficult for people who just happen to have brown skin to enter and work in Europe isn't racist. No of course not. It's just coincidence.

The entire EU was first mooted 10 years after the last world war, a war in which one of the founding members committed the greatest crime in human history against an entire people. It was also aided in that crime by vichy france. Another key player in the EU's birth.

Coincidence? No, not to me.

It is a body founded by a nation with a recent history of extolling the virtue of racial supremacy, aided and abetted as it was during this time by its neighbour.

There is a reason the EU is set up in such a way that northern (pasty white) Europe benefits hugely more than southern (swarthy, amd darker) Europe does.

And leavers are the racists?

You want to know what this country will be like post Brexit?

Take a look at the people heading it and ask yourself what they have in common, when you've done that you'll have a pretty good idea where we're heading.

well you are entitled to your opinion of course. Oddly enough the way I "side" probably reflects the way I voted - that would be with 48% of the voters in the referendum who are British so hardly taking sides against Britain just not "siding" with your view but that would be the opinion I am entitled to. As for the views of fellow Bluemooners you only have to re-read this thread never mind others and similar topics and you will see plenty voicing the opinion that we are well rid of the EU which needs us so much they will offer what ever we ask for to keep trading with us - and there are also some pretty contemptuous descriptions of and views on Europeans.

Believe me my friend the biggest "enemy" as you put it in these negotiations will be the EU itself
Well - TBF - when I mentioned 'sides' I was speaking about the period of negotiations that are now commencing - not the referendum.

IMO, a big part of the problem that sees so many UK citizens being unable to support the UK in this momentous task is that they are still debating the pre-2016 issue.

That was a very close result - but there was a result and we should all be getting behind the UK now. It is clear that a lot of people, including on this thread, cannot move on and are therefore effectively 'on the side' of the EU in these negotiations

It really drives you nuts that the horses won't drink.

Whilst I agree with most of this, the issue I've always had with this argument is; what about the 50% of immigrants who are not from the EU, piling in year after year? We had 170000 non-eu immigrants last year which, in theory at least, we've always been able to do something about. This group have an employment rate of about 60%, compared to EU citizens of 80% (8-10% more than the UK population). Queen Teresa has been at the home office since 2010 and oversaw 750000 non-eu immigrants, so confidence to enact any of this shouldn't be high!

Our immigration policies have to apply to all non UK citizens regardless.

I agree our handling of immigration has been appalling but i think the open door policy of the EU has made trying to police it has been an absolute nightmare.

Our government no longer has any excuses though.

On the Big Question on the BBC at this moment Nicky Campbell has just quoted stats that show 33% of those questioned did say immigration was their number one motive to vote leave.

How's that for up to date reporting?

Now back to Magicpole in the studio..............

Yes thanks Bluethru. These figures underline that they were not in the majority, but my estimated 6-7m votes is near the mark and indeed was decisive.

Now, we go over to Washington to find out what conspiracy Mr Trump will be pedalling this week. We have a sweep going that it will be Sesame St in the firing line.

Over to Jon Sopel, Jon

Yes Magic, it's just been confirmed that Sesame St creator Jim Henson, will be exhumed and questioned about his promotion of liberal ideals of tolerance to children.

More later
