It looks to me like Kun has lost a yard of pace this season. Several times he's been 50/50 with average defenders and he hasn't been able to put on those famous afterburners of years gone by. Whether this is temporary or the sum of all his injuries over the years, I do not know. But if he can get back to what he was, keeping him is a no brainer. Ultimately Pep and those who work with Kun daily are best positioned to know.

No question about that imo. But if it is permanent, then often the top strikers find a new way & work on other aspects. And even though he's not lightning, he's not slow either.

Probably more to do with the amount of energy he's expending out of possession and in the build up as much as the injuries.

We absolutely have to strengthen those positions, but it's a case of whether Pep is doing his 3 years or whether he's signing up for the long haul.

If it's the latter, then we may find most of the signings are young players, with a couple of older ones for immediate impact, one of which might be Sanchez.
I've no problem with signing younger players for those positions, but if they'll be good enough to use straightaway, they'll be expensive.

Might turn out half & half. A couple of big money ones & a couple under the radar.

But if you look at this season for example, hardly any of the signings we made, were really for 'now'. The only two that were, one is injured most of the season & the other can't get his game together. Arguably, if GJ had stayed fit, the two who made the biggest impact in the run in, & maybe even won us the title or Champs Lg, might have turned out Sane & GJ. the least experienced players.

No one player could replace Aguero. I hope he stays and we also buy Sanchez. However should Kun choose to leave then replacing him, Navas and Nolito with Sanchez and Mbappe would be an upgrade overall.

Believe me or not. That's OK. I can't remember which presser it was at. Anyway, it's nothing new. He has been quoted talking about doing the same at Bayern.
He did use a 235 formation a couple of times at Bayern against teams he expected to park the bus.

There's no way we buy both.

We've far too many gaps to fill in the squad to be shelling out 80 mil on 2 players in areas we don't really need two players in, especially if Paddy Roberts will be a straight swap out for Navas.

it'll be either/or.

Roberts is not even first choice at Celtic. Not good enough yet. Another year on loan should see him step up. As for money I suspect the cost would be north of 100m for the two. But we are losing a shed load of players on very high basic washes. If Kun goes that heads towards 12 players out with wages in the region of 90m. 7 players in with basic wage structure with one or two exceptions and we release at least 35m wages in amortised wages = 140m towards transfers, plus the 100m plus I transfer fees on players (if Kun goes) and our operating profit of 40m = 160m potential transfer fees and we are looking at 400 m to play with in transfer fees alone (unlikely but possible).
And we do need to reinforce this area if Kun goes. A front five with options and covering injuries of Sanchez, mbappe, Sterling, Sane, Gabriel, KDB and Silva is 7 into 5 = 2 game changers on bench if all fit.

The money being quoted for Mbappe alone right now means he'll go for silly cash. 70 mil easily considering his age and profile already. I think Sanchez will be 30 plus Joe.

I do think Roberts will be given his chance and could only see us signing both of those players if more than Kun left, so possibly Nolito.

Torino apparently asking for Joe to stay next season also.
Surely that'll be a no and he's sold.

Yeah there's absolutely zero chance Torino get him on loan.

I think there's 3 options for Joe.

1. Swap plus cash for Sanchez
2. Liverpool move for him(and I hope we take them to the cleaners after Sterling)
3. Juve wins CL, Buffon retires, Joe moves there(I honestly reckon that's why he chose Torino)

Yeah,I thought number 3 a bit back.

Don't know how likely Juve would be to go after him if this happened (I reckon they'd go all out for Donna Summer to weaken Milan/grab themselves another brilliant young Italian keeper), but was watching some interviews Buffon has done in the build up to Champions League games this season and I did get the impression it's the one he wants to tick off before he retires - he was talking about how many times he's felt it was his and Juve's year in the comp.
He's won everything bar the Euros and CL as well and while he could probably do a few more years with Juve, he's unlikely to make it to Euro 2020 as first choice keeper for Italy.

If as it seems he is going to be on the market we simply have to move for him. A world class player.

We have seemingly passed up too many chances to sign genuine quality in recent years, lets put our boot on Arsenal's throat and take Sanchez. Ozil will probably squirm a move to PSG or something as well.

West Ham would be my bet. About his level, they love acting like they're big time and he'd get to be the star. No top team would want him after his last few seasons
