ticket prices for semi- final

And real wages have gone up too: that is wages adjusted for inflation. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-39576856 I know football fans are never typical, but I doubt money has got anything to do with change in demand for FA Cup Semi-final tickets although of course for a lot of people it is too expensive. It would have been too expensive last time as well

And then there are poor sods like me ,Iv had 1% increase per year for the last 5 years and all Im getting till 2020 is 1 % per year too,by the end of that Iv lost about 13 -15 % of real wage value since 2012

Did I read correctly that TWO YEAR olds need a ticket?????

I'm not sure much the average two year old earns, but it's going to be a stretch for some to afford a ticket as well as travel and rusks for the day

I can view them

The Cat 2 tickets have nearly gone now. There were 24 'batches' on sale this morning online. Now there's 22 so still selling

I've been out of work but have still found money for Wembley. I've just pulled in favours like a lift back and somewhere to stay for a couple of pints. I'll recriprocate when it's vice versa.

Personally agree about the disconnect. I'm not far off jacking it in.

I'm going...
I accept:
1) some people may have to work
2) some people may be strapped for cash
3) some people still don't believe the semi-final should be at Wembley
4) some people can't go as it's a Sunday (stupid fukin FA plebs)
5) some people have had enough of Wembley - mainly the fcukin expense!
6) some people may be saving in the hope of a trip in May

Will it devalue or affect my enjoyment of my day out - no.

Is our apparent struggle to sell out our allocation an issue for me - well yes, but I'm not blaming anyone for not going.
Will I give a shit when certain Rags approach me to make a point of all this - not really as I never give a fcuk what they say about us as a club.

With all the above said - if I hear complaints about lack of access to tickets from certain elements going forward then those people need to give their heads a wobble. Yes I'm alright with over 15000 points, but there have been plenty of games AGAIN this season where the points criteria hasn't been that high. They might be shitty trips to the North East on a Wednesday - but these are the games where you build up your points to get to the bigger games.

My 2ps worth anyway

For me there is no thrill factor in 'just' going to Wembley, for a semi final, never has been.( The ground, not the actual semi final ) I can't make the semi final anyway and won't get a final ticket. But a semi final at Wembley has no more attraction to me than a semi final anywhere else just more expensive. whereas if it's for a final then it's different. I know it gives others that maybe haven't been to Wembley a chance, and I'm sure we will sell out now they are on general sale.
If I was one that expected to get a final ticket though I would probably save myself and my money for that. that's where expectation has changed things we don't expect the semi final to be the end of the road anymore,

Really.

Since the take over we now had 4 fa cup semi finals. Before that you had to go back to 1981. So 5 in 35 years. Yes we been spoilt alright.

Expectation must hold different meanings for people.

Are the trains on the day likely to be dry?

I think they have only been dry in the past when there was a likeliehood of us passingor travelling with other fans (i.e the Rags/Dippers)

The Rags arent at home that weekend so there is not likely to be a lot of United fans travelling back from Manchester to London

If I remember rightly we played home games on two consecutive days in the title run-in in 1968 - Good Friday and Easter Saturday. Not helpful for attracting big crowds to both
Spot on Chelsea on the Friday then West Ham day after,I was at both games 47,000 and 38,000 we also won both games.49 year's ago bloody hell.

If anyone thinks that there isn't a disconnect between the long serving loyal fans and the club these days they really do need to wake up and open their eyes. The disconnect has never, ever been greater. The reason that we are struggling to sell our allocation of semi-final tickets at Wembley is not down to the fans being self-entitled or complacent with success in recent years - far from it. It's due to the loyal fans of many years being treated like shit by the club and therefore simply refusing to shell out a lot of money to support a club they no longer have a close affinity with. It's due to long standing fans not being able to get tickets for away matches as a big chunk of them are now dished out to the corporates. It's down to the fact that when they do manage to get a ticket for an away game when they get there the away end is filled with tourists (the recent Arsenal & Chelsea games being a perfect example) who must have got their tickets from resale agencies that have been supplied by the club. It's due to no longer having a real & direct relationship with the club as the virtually all of the communication the club has with the fans is via social media. It's due to long standing, season ticket holding fans of 30 & 40 years being turfed out of their seats with virtually no notice so the club can build even more corporate areas. It's due to the sterile, orchestrated 'Match Day Experience' that is now required to be the norm. It's due to loyal, match going fans being turfed out of the ground and banned by jumped up Showsec stewards for minor misdemeanors at the direct instructions of the club. Yes - the attendances will hold up and probably get bigger as we are now a global club that tourists want to visit and watch a game at (when they eventually find their seats) but the atmosphere will become more and more sterile. More and more less passionate and more and more neutral. If that is what the club wants then that's fine and that is exactly what they are getting. But don't expect hard working people to cough big money to watch a game when they are effectively being told they are not welcome anymore. The fans will support the team until their dying day but their attitude to the club will become more and more indifferent and more and disconnected just as it is now. The club need to realise that eventually you reap what sow and what they are now reaping is not what loyal blues of many years want to see or be a part of. That is why we have struggled to sell our allocation of semi-final tickets this time. In previous times we would have been queuing around the stadium for 6 and 7 hours to get a ticket and loving it! The fact is the club don't give a shit about the fans anymore and the fans are reciprocating that feeling in spades.
Well said mate, hit a lot of nails within your post.
I got an email today from the club, finally getting back in touch with me about having to move into new seats somewhere next year when they build the tunnel. I've been saying since it all came to light they should get the affected fans together, tell them what's happening and why, and then discuss with them how they can progress the move without bitterness or recriminations.
What did I get in the email? A fucking survey. Yep another fucking survey. They can stick it up their collective corporate arses.
