Just to make a very important point which you seem to miss. The English did not and will not get a vote in whether Scotland can stand on its own two feet in independence. You need to save your arguments for the Scottish people who voted to stay in the UK (may be on Scottish forums). It does not make a single jot of difference to any English people on this forum as to your arguments (never mind why you think a Celtic fan needs to convince City fans). You need to convince the majority of people who voted to stay within the UK IN SCOTLAND itself as they will be the ones who will eventually decide (or rather did decide) on your fate. I, nor many other English people really could not give a shit.

Then why is there so many references to Sturgeon if nobody gives a fuck?

I don't introduce her. I don't start threads about her.

This is a uk wide issue and if people bring her up then I respond to the point they're making.

In here it's not about city fans as a homogenous group. It's about off topic where many city fans are at each other's throats politically.

It's a good forum and I like it, even the guys I think are talking shite.

I would suspect most people bring up sturgeon because her and her cronies get more news coverage and air time than anyone or anything else and we could not give a shit. Unfortunately with you on here a thread about a UK political election may (has) become sidetracked about Scotland and its, well , frankly, boring and irrelevant to us Mancs.

If you wont go on the Celtic thread may be you can discuss all things Scotland on the Scottish second referendum thread?

As I say, you lost the Scottish indy ref a few years ago, its not the English you need to convince of your arguments but the majority of scots who voted to stay in the UK. I am sure a smooth talker like yourself can convince those fellow countrymen of yours to turn and see the light.

To flip from being pro-european to trying to push through an unopposed hard brexit is a bizarre turn around from someone who doesn't even think it's in the nation's best interest. And yet Jeremy Corbyn can't be trusted to negotiate Brexit even though he has also agreed to do what has been requested and has also been a more consistent critic of the EU in the past. Theresa May's version of Brexit isn't being planned to take into account what's in the best interests of the country (i'm not even sure there's been much planning at all tbh), she's instead trying to satisfy back benchers and the Daily Mail in order to serve her own career ambitions. She's a liar and she also has an appalling voting record when it comes to ensuring equal rights for all British citizens. The whole thing's a mess and Labour/Lib Dems failure to come together and at least find some consensus that represents the rest of us also borders on the negligent.

Meanwhile, nobody seems to be talking about things that actually affect us every day anymore, like hospitals, schools and social care. The damage that will be done on those fronts in the coming years probably won't ever be fixed.
Being a remainer does not necessarily mean being pro eu. Hard/soft Brexit depends on other countries not just TM. Nobody talking about the economy which has left us needing to fund the good things less than all would like....

Oh come on. Look back at it and see it was others who brought up wee Jimmy. Not me.

We don't want any of your cake mate. We want you to stick it up your arse.

We know the truth about us being scroungers. A few years of low oil prices does not a future make. We contributed more per head for 30 out of 32 years. We will be better off and if the uk didn't need us why in the name of fuck would they want to keep us.

When we go Indy the truth will emerge and we will see who needed who.

To help you and your colleagues I have just posted on the Sturgeon thread:

"Just bumping this thread as it seems the usual suspect(s) again cannot seem to restrain themselves from loading and distracting an important thread with their pet topic - despite that it is a niche and not particularly important subject at this time of momentous events"

This will hopefully help you to focus on posting in the thread appropriate to the points you are making and allow the rest of us to get on with discussing important matters

Do you read stuff? The Spanish already stated they won't oppose us. Catch up ffs!
The Spanish wouldn't oppose anybody, a bunch of lazy arses who won't even pick their own olive crop, have a sub-standard education system and waste EU money by building motorways in the middle of nowhere that connect to nothing.

The election is going to show us a number of things:
  1. Is Jeremy Corbin the right man to lead the Labour party - probably not.
  2. Will the Scots increase their support of the SNP - time will tell.
  3. Is UKIP now irrelevant - yes I think they are.
  4. Will Brexit voters of other parties vote Conservative - yes I think a lot will.
  5. Will there be a Lib/Dem revival because of their ProEuro stance - I can't see it personally.
I like Mrs. May and she is no fool, this could be a masterstroke on her part.

You really never fact check do you?

Every reference to sturgeon made by brexiteers and Tories. I responded.

Have a word with your ilk first.

Eddie's let himself go a bit.

She's a lying self-interested careerist piece of shit. Just like all of the people that led us into Brexit. Will anybody every be held accountable for the lies written on the side of that bus? Why the fuck anybody would actually believe anything else that has been promised from the Brexiteers is completely beyond me. What a total mess we're sleep walking into all for the sake of furthering the careers of the very very worst politicians this country has to offer. Jeremy Corbyn is shite too but I can not fathom how anyone could think the likes of Johnson and May would ever work more in the British public's interest than he would.

Wrong thread I think.

  1. Is Jeremy Corbin the right man to lead the Labour party - probably not. Definitely not
  2. Will the Scots increase their support of the SNP - time will tell. Unlikely
  3. Is UKIP now irrelevant - yes I think they are. They were pretty irrelevant before despite polling 3.8m votes last time
  4. Will Brexit voters of other parties vote Conservative - yes I think a lot will. Agree
  5. Will there be a Lib/Dem revival because of their ProEuro stance - I can't see it personally. Possibly as they can say to the electorate pretty much anything knowing that they won't form a government and a coalition is unlikely

We entered the European Community to enable free trade between participating countries. We did not sign up to a federal Europe that became top-heavy in bureaucrats making rules and regulations that frankly we as British people do not want. Other countries have trade agreements without being members, that what we want.

Germany, France and too a lesser extent Spain and Italy are shitting themselves because the loss of the UK contribution will mean they have to fork out more to the countries who do not contribute at present and have no intention of doing so in the future, Greece springs to mind instantly.

Never mind about all that bullshit. Just answer the question magic. How are you hard done by?
