Arsenal(FA Cup Semi Final) Post Match Thread

been following the blues for 40 years and have to say after today I really have had enough , how the feck the lino could say/think the ball had gone out is baffling , the pen on Aguero , thats it for me I cant stand the inconsitency any more and dont even talk to me about the obvious agenda , Ive had it no more , I'll always love the blues but cant handle this bollocks obvious bias

A player celebrated a winner? How dare he.

At one stage I remember over the top goal celebrations being banned by one of the FA´s.

My lasting memory was a clip of one of the Scottish teams reaction to this ban by making a patient straight line to formally approach a goal scorer immediately after his success then each player just shook his hand one by one.

Agree, I don't know why we don't call the FA out on it, right from the top. All the non-pens in games against us this season, it's cost us a cup final and a genuine title challenge.

Wave bye bye to champions league football for next season unless this team steps up to the plate on thurs which goin off past results is unlikely

What?

We've got the easiest run in and willbe comfortable I think within the next few weeks. We're good at beating shite.

We are mentally and physically soft throughout the team. We appear to have lost that nasty snarling edge, at the back we are outmuscled too easily and too weak in challenges. When we went ahead did anyone think we would hold that lead? We lack an inner belief and seem to freeze once we go in front. This is probably because we have no faith in the defence and keeper. We dominate possession then contrive to miss chance after chance and you can see the fear growing, the confidence start to drain.

Deep down I think many of us expected a season like this if we are honest. A new manager and no additions to an ageing and creaking defence. A lack of real goalscoring back up for Aguero, a different option to mix things up. Jesus would have helped but we lost him the same as Gundogan was missed in our midfield. I looked at our bench and not one person on it if I was in the arsenal team would have filled me with fear, or inspiration if I was in the CIty team.

All great teams are strong at the back. All great teams also work hard and have a hatred of getting beat. We don't. Pep needs to take onboard very quickly what playing in this league means it is different and more competitive than others and we need a bit more steel and physicallity and a bit less tippy tap. The officiating of our games has also been an utter disgrace bordering on hindering us deliberately at times and unless someone at the club starts fighting back it will continue.

We have six cup finals now to cement top four but I am not sure we have the stomach or the bollocks to get it done. We will see. Roll on next season!

we're just not good enough, went the same way as so many games this season it's barely worth repeating.

Jesus better be ready for Thursday and on fire because that's the only thing that will give us top 4. I won't miss that too much anyway, almost at the point where I want the current status quo at City to get such a big kick up the arse from ending up in the Europa that it forces things to change for the better, reigns in the senior management and brings the club back a bit closer. Plus, playing interesting teams in the Europa I find fun, and means we could finally blood some youth on Thursday nights.

Just want a big, big change in the club's way of doing things and I want to see Pep put a Pep team out and return back towards what he states are his principles and ideas, rather than this which is early Mancini-lite

We were just unimpressive today.

too many of our midfielders didnt turn up today.

KDB, sane and sterling being the main 3. Yaya once we got to the last part of the game started to have an effect but thats it.

We lost today cause of that and Ive been saying for a few weeks that I think KDB is treading water in Peps team and nothing Ive seen since has yet to change my mind.....hopefully he can pull it together for the last few games or at least next season but he is looking a weak link at present and If Ilky was fit KDB would be the one dropped for me

Good day out. We should've dicked'em. Fucking spawny southern rag ****s. They were nice on the way home. But they stank of pretend german rag old ****.

Fuck it .. missus just booked us a long 4 day weekend away in cup final weekend... will be avoiding the match like the plague

Yeh thought the same. If we are his next destination he did nothing to endear us to him by doing that. It was a huge goal for his current club so I wouldn't knock him if he did a Tardelli. If he does come to us that memory of him doing a Rooney will always be there.
Said it before .... he had two chances to join us in the past and chose other clubs... I say fuck him... move on

I too for all the same reasons have had enough

I hope those running the club can see all of these points too and make the necessary changes, rather than thinking 'oh we always have about 65% possession, we're doing well, we only need another winger in summer'!

Huge changes needed, in mindset as well as players, especially the defence and central midfield.

Exactly how i feel. Never had much time for this agenda stuff, but not so sure any more. Merlin kicked to fuck and absolutely no protection. 5 cards to 2 when it should have been 2 to 9. For the first time ever, very very close to switching the TV off. If i was Pep, I would have just pulled the players off the pitch and fuck you F.A.

Right.

I've calmed down now after that debacle.

Reasons why it was difficult for us to win that game:

Firstly, the referee f**ked our game plan with his flat refusal to take action against the Arsenal thuggery, which ultimately led to the replacement of Silva through injury.
Secondly, there were at least two penalties that should have been given in our favour. In fairness, they could have easily been given one so I'll concede 1 goal in our favour.
Thirdly, that ball never crossed the dead ball line before it was kicked over the goal line (twice). The fact the official waited until we claimed the goal before the lino flagged that it had gone out, when clearly he couldn't be sure was bollocks and a clear indication that it was a deliberate act to f**k us over. You can bet your bottom dollar that if the keeper had saved it, the ref would have played on and not signalled a goal kick as he should have done if the ball had gone out.

With Aguero's goal, that makes it 3 goals in our favour before HT, and the Arse would have been spent - Game over.

Our defending after the Aguero's goal was piss poor, but that was partially down to the fact we'd had to reshuffle when Silva went off.

Having said all that, we still should have been more than enough for them, but when you start each game knowing that the ref is guaranteed to screw you over at some point, it must knock your confidence knowing however hard you try it just won't be enough. Every goal has to be perfect, without the tiniest reason for the officials to screw us, plus we have to do it whilst getting kicked up and down and not letting the opposition score more goals than us. Not easy.

Possession in your own half means nothing. We must have one of the highest number of passes back or sidewards in the league as well

Awful end to an awful season. One that promised and started with so much hope has just gradually been shit
