Seasoncard Renewals 2017/18

I think he's saying he's not renewing.
Yes I thought so I just wanted to know why ?
I think the price rise alone is not going to make many people give up but I get the feeling an accumulation of negative aspects of the club and the direction it is going is making people question wheather to carry on. This price rise is disasterous pr & makes you wonder if it was designed to clear a few out, the new parking restrictions , the awfull tram/bus service, the harassment of fans by Showsec, que's & searches all add up but the big one for me is the corrupt officials that City say & do nothing about make me wonder wheather to join him .

May not be the price rise more the price. East Stand where our traditional support sat the old Kippax is now £800 not a drop in the ocean for most people, it's understandable people can be a bit miffed.

Question.

Does anyone else believe there are 13000 fans on the waiting list? That in itself could fill a SS and NS expansion with 13000, £299 season tickets.

That's £3.887.000. I stand corrected on that.

Remind me once again of how much City are going to make with this 2% season ticket price rise?

Which bod at City is crunching the numbers and making the important decisions?(Tunnel Club & 2% season ticket price rises, etc)

No idea but someone yesterday posted he was number thirteen thousand something on the waiting list.

I wouldn't pay £800 , there's a limit to what I'd pay & that's over it. To raise prices when the new TV deal brings in £50m more next year is such a staggeringly stupid decision, it just shows how distant the new people running the club are from the fans. We are Manchester City not Barcelona.

Lots on the WL for the £299 tickets. Not lots on it for anywhere else. Also, I reckon a lot of existing ST holders will be on the £299 waiting list!

Might be no 13,000 but I can't see there being 13,000 people on it at the moment. Maybe 13,000 people have been on it since it was introduced. I doubt there's many more than a couple of thousand or so on it, and many will be waiting for £299 tickets in an expanded North Stand.

I reckon the 2% rise is possibly to cover the stewarding costs with all the turnstile checks but if so they should just have absorbed the costs - or better still gone back to what they did before.

Its getting there for me as well mate, with away games, cup games and European matches I wouldn't like to guess how much I spend on football time to cut back a bit I think.

Perhaps if the club cut back on Managers, constant branding, the matchday experience costs, tendering for cheaper security, etc, then the cost of running the club would look after itself.

I'm sorry Marvin, but saying the 2% rise covers inflation and 'running costs' is bullshit.

And if it is true, which I very much doubt, is this what the club has now become, scratching around for a few hundred thousand from the fans to cover those two running costs.

Just think about that, mate.

Or even better, why not trim the layers of Managers, etc.

It's probabl

I didn't say it was justified. If you read what I said, I said City should absorb any extra costs. I think it's s stupid decision to raise the prices by 2%. But I am quite ready to believe that match day costs have gone up for the club. There are a lot more stewards now for a start. Policing costs probably going ever upwards etc. It will cost the club because we'll lose fans even if it is over £10-£15.

I never said you did. Read what I wrote. I was replying to you in general.(mate)

Running costs can be factored in for next season. Cost savings can be made.

Any additional running costs don't have to be passed on to the fans.

What additional costs have United incurred over the last 6 seasons? Yet they haven't increased their season ticket prices in the last 6 seasons. Their security measures, etc, have had to be stepped up as well. Other PL clubs are the same.

Come on Marvin, smell the coffee.

A club with a £500mill+ turnover, and a £20mill profit, I stand corrected on those figures, doesn't need to get it's fans to constribute 2% extra towards the cost of inflation and running costs. And here's me thinking City had an army of the best financial managers and accountants working for the club.

Penny pinching, with the fans paying those pennies.

Night.

for people asking i am Seasoncard Waiting List No:12955

so there is quite a few people on it.

As people have said a large amount may be after the 299 ticket.

That is the big one for me, we see it week in week out. Not just at City, but favouring one team over another; the big and important decisions go the way of those in favour, the other team get the none match defining decisions. We can all list them, week in week out; the media defend and smoke screen as they are part of the 'Band wagon/cash cow'

As many have said it's the principle. The increase is not massive. But there is no business need I can see, the club is just chancing their arm. It's also getting close to my break point. The whole "match day experience" is a load of bollocks. Whoever made the decision to increase prices comes across as out of touch with the real world. Good luck sorting out the bad PR, it's not as if the media needed an excuse to get on our backs. I told the missus it might be my last season, she never thought that's a phrase I would utter.......

City don't reallocate you a waiting list number when someone takes up the option. I had two adult ST for years, waiting for my son to be old enough to take one over. When I tried to downgrade it to a kids one last year I was told he had to join the waiting list as it was unfair on those already on it. Joined in May and got a phone call in June to say I could now change one to a kids, as his position enabled him to buy. So either everyone is waiting for the cheap tickets or most with lower numbers have either taken a ST or have dropped out. Either way the lower numbers are now out of use

Corruption in the game is the last reason i'd have for not renewing. City's supporters deserting the club is exactly what they'd like. In fact, the longer it goes on, the longer i'll keep going just to spite the bastards.

The w/l was opened for the South Stand expansion which surely knocked a few thousand off when it was opened, so the reference number given for additions doesn't necessarily indicate the number currently on the list as I doubt they recycle old numbers

Hopefully there are enough on it to pick up the slack from those not renewing.

So - how is this corruption the Clubs fault. What "accumulation of negative aspects" are you referring to? We all have opinions but FWIW in my opinion things have been positive for some seasons. Great players; best manager in the world; great football; super stadium and a great season to look forward to.

Our ticket prices are in line with those for all top teams - some prices lower. Some higher, of course - including mine but I've got a bloody great seat with a great view & worth every penny

Sorry for daring to be positive

Totally agree. I posted yesterday that it's not just about the football for me and the day out and camaraderie is a huge part of it. Any issues I may have with refereeing, FFP, etc, are club-specific issues rather than fan-specific and therefore I trust the club to deal with them. However, things like price increases, over-zealous stewarding, longer queues, and ever-increasing cheese on a match day are most definitely fan-specific and far more likely to persuade me to jack it in.
