Palace - Post Match Thread

"Close your eyes and swing" was his version of it! :-)

I'd go with his header against Utd at home.
Hope we can repeat that performance against Leicester next week, make up for our previous poor performances against the

His header against Uni**d won us the league, so would have to say that was his greatest goal.
As for Leicester, payback time........maybe

Well that goes down as one of the best days I've ever had with city. Too see my little lad walk out with tge players holding Fernandinhos hand on his first ever game gave me the biggest buzz I can remember. His first game, won five nil and a fantastic performance, it ain't all doom and gloom any more.
You must have felt so proud mate.Look forward to seeing him on MOTD. ;)

I realised that we can't do without the old guard yet, dave, yaya and vinny really help the kids but the kids aren't ready to go it alone yet

Seeing zabba in blue for maybe the last time makes me sad

Great story, and a fantastic start to being a lifelong Blue for your young un!

Hope you got some great pics?! Congrats!

Fingers and toes crossed!

Pep said, we needed that
VK said, we needed that
I definitely needed that

Silva MOTM obv.
Perhaps the ball retention Dave, Yaya, and Fernandinho offer allow KDB to play his natural high-speed, high-risk passing game in the centre.
Sane looked unplayable.
Jesus is filling out pretty quick. Don't overdo the weights, kid.
Ota feeds off Vincent.
Cabs is a stand-up and be counted guy.

And Clichy was excellent.

What a great start to the weekend.

Thank-you players and coaches

All players achieved today. For me a player not getting as much credit as he deserves for today's a performance is Fernandinho. Played OK as RB and still had a lot driving forward.

Everyone's been sending me the videos of him as he was the main one sky zoomed in on as the players came out, I'm like giddy kid again. Bit different in the family stand though, nice to actually sit down for once.

Amazing. That is all. Really needed that and was impressed with most but particularly KDB who put in a much needed shift

Glad you and your son had a great day, brilliant memories that will last a lifetime. Did you get to meet the players?

I think I'll look back fondly on today for years to come. Perfect scoreline, clean sheet, five great goals by five different players including Kompany and Otamendi.

Thats how stats should read given our usual high possession percentage.

Total shots 26
Shots on target 12
Goals 5

Almost half of our shots were on target *massive improvement of which almost half became goals .

Crikey, everyone is getting a bit excited here...probably more out of relief that we've managed to win a friggin game more than any other reason. Just like there is over reaction when we don't win, we should apply a bit of perspective here as well. A good performance against a pretty poor Palace side, I'd be far more convinced about this City teams ability if we could put 4 or 5 past the likes of Arsenal/Liverpool etc...in other words, a decent team.
The only teams we've beaten in the league this year are Burnley, Bournemouth, West Ham, Sunderland, Hull, Swansea, Southampton and Palace.....most of the dross.
Great to have Vinnie back, his passing was good today, took his goal really well and he can be cynical and pragmatic at the back as well, he adds that hardness we have been lacking for much of this season.

I didn't no, I was sent to the Tudor room where it was sandwiches and beer whilst he went off doing photos. He said they just line the kids up in the tunnel in a random order and then the players walk out and just stand with a kid, so totally random. Fern said hello to him and that about it but I doubt my lad could muster a hello to be fair.

Otta... my word. His reading of the game today, moving forward and intercepting forward balls from Palace was immense!
