Explosion at MEN Arena/Victoria Station

My mates just posted a vid of police in Groton blowing a door off

Yeah that's good and even though I am up the other end of Gorton so not really near me, the size of the area this investigation is focused on seems to be expanding, you got fallowfield, moss side, town, rusholme and now gorton

Yes covering some distance now they're everywhere the evil scum!

Sidebar chaps - any recommendations where I can get either a I heart MCR car window/bumper sticker or a Manchester Bee car window/bumper sticker - fleabay only seems to be offering up chancers from everywhere else in the country - I'd like to make sure at least some the ca$h I spend goes to the victims fund!

Police tweeted they arrested a 19 year old in connection with the bombing routing the fuckers out!

The manchester visitors center at the town hall should have the I♡MCR stuff

I would hope the emergency services would do what was necessary to save victims, and if there was red tape in the way, overcome it and do what was necessary in the here and now to protect and save us. It's their job after all.
Not a question of red tape. The emergency services had no idea if there were other explosive devices at the scene when they arrived. The police & paramedics were told it wasn't safe and that it was up to them if they went in but they all went in regardless. The fire brigade were ordered to stay out until it was confirmed safe. Normally if paramedics are sent to a scene that's suspected to be unsafe they would wait until the police arrived and went in with them. So strictly speaking the fire brigade were right but they should have been given the choice given the nature of the incident.

Greater Manchester (and some of the wider area) feeling bit riddled with terrorists/sympathisers now with the raids they've conducted all over the place. Bar the rare thing that could have been drugs related and that Cheetham Hill raid years back, we've barely heard a peep of it round here before

No you misunderstand I don't think for a second anyone would refuse mate I'm just saying if I decided to jump and drive the pump myself the others may not go willingly for whatever reason.
They would follow your lead i am sure, i doubt they would feel welcome much longer considering how many of you feel. They would be persona non grata i would imagine.

Regarding the bangs, it seems like they are not even knocking but just using shaped charges or baton/breaching rounds in shot guns straight away, no knocking to allow anyone to prepare any surprises.

If any of you get RT feeds on social media or elsewhere, avoid the comments. Really angering reading all the bellend theories the nobs that dribble over their articles post after you've felt the reality of these things on your doorstep.

Searby road just off mount road. 2 doors away from my 83 year old mother! Just spoke to her on the phone can't get anywhere near to call and see her

When you get through to her try to reassure her as best you can (I know you'd do that just typing out loud) hope she's fine and all the best pal.

St. Helens, Wigan, Blackley.

Probably missing one there at that. Think Whalley Range was mentioned at some point and the mosque in Didsbury too.

When we're talking about community policing and getting help within the mosques etc., I've just googled the word mosque in maps and there are way more than I could have imagined scrolling over as it as it reveals nearby ones. Oldham and south Mcr are full of 'em - now, allowing for Sunni/Shiite variants etc. When there are so many teaching their own way, the challenge of that ground level community help and policing seems daunting.

makes you wonder how MI5 didn't notice it enough beforehand, considering as they're all over the place.
Just edited my post to reinforce the issue. There's as many mosques or roughly the same amount as churches in some areas - considering demographics (at least the ones statistically reported anyway), I expect thats a disproportionate amount to serving the community.

Is it fair that something like the number of mosques be looked at to help manage the issue in these times?

no, just what's been said within them. Need agreements on what will/won't be preached, venues that don't comply are shut down and we need to recruit far more undercovers and moderate members of the local community to shop more extremist members and from the ground up make sure the organisational structures are filled with moderates and outward thinkers. Need to subvert the radicalists and gradually ostracise them from their own communities.
