Some random poster suggested Bravo would still be de facto number one for PL and CL, without any basis for spouting such obvious drivel, and people seem to think the idea has credence.
I think it's obvious that we aren't buying Ederson to sit on the bench.
Lol, RIP @Shaelumstash

Hart's sitting on the bench.
Ederson's been brought in as club mascot.
Kinky Karen ;),he'll get it from me anyway
I thought he was to play at the left of a back three to launch long diagonals to the RW?
Ederson will hopefully give Bravo some breathing space. You have seen goalkeepers like Joe Corrigan and de Gea really struggle in their first seasons, and then improve drastically in the second. Very bad start to Bravo's career at City, but I am sure he is desperate to play for City. We can be objective about his performance last season, but realise what he has done elsewhere, and be supportive of what he can do for City in the future.I would love to type "wow Bravo was amazing there" but we all know that is not going to happen. it was a signing, a poor one, sell up and get rid. it happens.
I wouldn't put it past Pep to have told both keepers they'll be in a straight competition for Number 1. If so, I imagine Ederson fully believes that's a competition he'll win.
It seemed kind of obvious to me to be honest.I certainly hope this is what he's told them, it should never be any other way.
The money we're paying for him is absolutely ridiculous tbh. First we paid an absolutely absurd amount for Bravo who was 33, now we're paying Neuer and De Gea money combined for a keeper who is far far less proven than even DdG, let alone Neuer who was already world-class when signing for Bayern.
Txiki determined to make sure we can never sell a player and make money.

Bravo did this reasonably well I'd say (see his pass to De Bruyne at Swansea). But it's true that it was more of the case in the first part of the season, but then again I guess opponents hardly ever pressed us anyway.I have always believed that Pep's strategy was to pass the ball out of defence but if we get pressed it draws forward the opposition and that's when the keeper kicks it long to our own attack. Problem has been we had no keeper who could kick long and keep the ball on the field. Willy wasn't too bad but more than 50% of Joe's would end up as throw ins.

We're operating in a Pogba world now. I think goalkeeper is the most important position in the team. I think it is impossible to win the league without a top keeper, but it is possible to win it with a weakness elsewhere. The money we're paying for him is absolutely ridiculous tbh.
