Would the election be postponed now after what's happening tonight?

Jesus Christ no. The very last thing that should be done! Everyone getting straight back to business as usual without any over the top dramatics is the best thing to show these people they won't win.

Only people it'd suit is the Tories. Not trying to be a dick but it's true, no reason to stop it.

Don't really care who its suits first and foremost we go to the polls Thursday. If you think that Iraq went to the polls after the war and all the threats and attempts to pervert the outcome that took place there the very fact that a couple of terror attacks should put us off is abhorrent and should nt be considered. Thursday the 8th is election date and we stick too it

Don't get too excited mate.
On a simple average, current polls are about 8% average lead for Tories, add on say an extra 3% for polls always understating Tory lead and an11% lead translates into a 100+ majority.
And if you look particularly at the crucial marginals rather than the overall vote, the kippers are turning in their droves to the Tories.
This all points to a big majority for the Tories.
However if Labour can get it's act together and unite behind it's manifesto maybe with a new populist leader, then when either the crisis of Brexit and / or the inevitable betrayal of UKIP converts/RWNJ Tories/ right wing press occurs Labour could be in a good position to pick up the pieces.
Clearly if Corbyn wasn't the leader though Labour would probably be walking this election! Should he do well it could be an extreme Phyric victory for Labour as he would stay Labour leader. He is poison to far too many voters.

maybe not though - you keep clinging to that straw of a rogue poll- tonights events are going to help her immensely - not.

Just t confirm Strong and Stable Theresa was Home Secretary from 2010 -2016 whereupon she became PM. On her watch Police numbers slashed all to save money - sorry increase our safety. The first duty of a Government it protect its citizens from harm - May and the Tories are an epic fail !!!!
i'm not a Tory. Neither am I a Marxist. Corbyn is definitely a Chocolate Fireguard though.

Just a heavy police presence (which would need the army backup they called last week again) is sensible. Can't rule out potential for anything that day

no but I do think we need to rethink our defence strategy. Do you think empty aircraft carriers - nuclear subs and Trident are deterring terrorists who are operating locally in vulnerable target rich environments which are not defended by any f the above. Why is so much of our defence spending tied up in that shit?

Empty? They all have a full compliment of hard working(and sometimes drunk) sailors, what should be done to counteract the home grown terrorist in your opinion, I know what my response would be but I won't air it on here as I'll probably get a ban like I have on the London attack thread

If you can explain what action of his or indeed what inaction of Corbyn could have contributed to recent terror attacks I am all ears....

well for starters I would listen to the Police officers on the ground who say that local intel has dried up due to the reduction in Police numbers turning them into a reactive rather than proactive Police force. Maybe increase Police numbers rather than trust that somehow internet monitoring will produce the anti-terror intel you need?

As in all walks of life snitches get stitches, people won't talk for fear of retribution, it's a sad state of affairs that people won't out wrong uns in any community and more beat bobbies won't make a difference
