Can you produce any of these "plethora"? None from any journalists related to the club, no sniff from the ITKs and none from any reliable Spanish journos either.
Made me laugh the that as well. Utter tripe!Keep digging. Your still spouting your opinion and your opinion only. That's what "people & the general public" think - LMAO.

Looks solid here. I know it means fuck all on YouTube but a lot of people would be creaming themselves if we were about to spend £30m+ on this guy.
He's actually pretty decent.
I personally think its ludicrous to compare VVD to Otamendi. Van Dijk is an imposing, commanding figure defensively and reads situations superbly on the pitch. Otamendi is too hit and miss. Some games he looks superb, other games he looks woeful. He is such an erratic defender and I find it bizarre how good he looks alongside Kompany, but also how terrible he looks without Kompany. He is the type of defender who looks good as the secondary centre back with an organiser alongside him, but without an organiser he doesn't have the presence, the character and the mentality to lead our defence. Van Dijk from what I have seen ticks all the boxes.
Otamendi needs to learn to stay on his feet for a start. There is only one winner for me. Virgil Van Dijk.

Think Otamendi has been staying upright a bit more recently. But i must admit i think VVD is a cracking player.
But the woeful games are getting less and less frequent, and since Kompany returned he's been constantly superb. Personally I would never trade Otamendi for Van Dijk.
I don't think City fans always appreciate how good he is to be honest.
Teams like City that have aspirations of winning the champions league can't have flaky defenders with no leadership skills
Still digging. How deep are you going to go?I can't imagine how completely out of touch you are if you actually think Otamendi is rated outside of City fans.
Do you never speak to people who aren't City fans? Do you never listen to any radio/tv shows or read any newspapers?
Even people who like Otamendi should be able to accept he's not seen of as a good signing or a great defender by the wider footballing public.
Not sure if anything you've quoted is untrue? He's a bit of a laughing stock in the eyes of many and even though he's nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe he's also nowhere near as good as one or two on here like to think.Still digging. How deep are you going to go?

I wouldn't be unhappy to see him stay but if Madrid offered anything upwards of 30m I'd snap their hands off.
He's nowhere near as good but you think the back to back winners of the CL and current Spanish Champions would buy him?Not sure if anything you've quoted is untrue? And then whoscored.com think he is the best centre back in Europe. Not sure if anything you've quoted is untrue? Who gives a shit what the media and other fans think watch every home game he is pretty decent

Just to clarify, he might well be good enough for Real Madrid but he's not good enough for City? I just don't follow this logic, at all.
