Been arguing the same point with ''worsleysweb' but, guess what?

He, conveniently, ducks an actual response!

Try it with him!

Even more odd is it's his main reason for not aligning with Corbyn!

LOL!

I have ducked nothing. Not particularly happy about the dup involvement but if it means a left wing government not getting in it is a price I am prepared to pay.

Okay, so explain your hate for Corbyn based upon your compromise!

It makes you look ridiculous and petty.

As you say, it's Labour you actually despise, anyway, so just say that! No argument!

Your reasoning to be anti-Corbyn, personally, is unsound is all.

I hate Corbyn as he is an extreme socialist and I don't like that politics belief. Don't hate labour - hate it in its current form.

He might have a personal view, which he hasn't impressed upon the Party. This is democratic leadership, in play.

You might be a great captain of a five-a-side team, but like midget porn and some may disagree with that.

Your effectiveness to captain your team doesn't change! You just keep your sh*t to yourself as nobody likes what you like as much as you do, for the good of the team!

Not the greatest analogy, but I'm pressed for time!

So what you're saying is Corbyn likes midget porn?

What also matters is that some of the Tories most divisive policies, like the dementia tax and scrapping school dinners, will need to be re-thought.

I definitely don't disagree there, the Tories fought a miserable campaign but the amazing thing is even despite this they still became the biggest party.. Labour were still miles off in reality.

A few tweaks and a less extreme message will see them back at the pre-election predictions I think. Whether May also survives the next few weeks to be the one to write the tale is another thing.

The Conservative's campaign was so poor that they made Corbyn almost electable. Unfortunately for Labour, far too many people, myself included, would never vote for him due to his history. If Labour had someone like Andy Burnham leading they'd have pissed it against May. Both partys desperately need new leaders.

You might have misunderstood my point. I was saying that the Tories will struggle to get passed the more extreme elements of their manifesto. You seem to have agreed to an extent by saying the Tories will need to moderate their message. Do you agree with me or not?

Andy Burnham could not win his party's nomination. So what you're actually saying is you can't vote for Labour. Corbyn is not an aberration, he's won two Labour leadership elections in two years by stonking majorities, the membership want him and more importantly they want what he stands for, he's not going away, Corbyn's message is Labour's message.

Assuming the Tories hold it together and there's not another election in the next couple of years. Corbyn, who is 68, might hand the reigns over, if he can secure the nomination of another MP from the left of the party, the membership would almost certainly support that, that's the best you're going to get.

But Andy Burnham or another New Labour clone? Forget it, that's history.

Quite surprised he hasn't already anointed someone like Clive Lewis as his heir apparent.

Clive Lewis would be my pick, but as it stands a left wing candidate, or any candidate for that matter, needs to be supported by 15 per cent of the Commons members of the PLP. Corbyn only got on the ballot in 2015 to widen the debate and then only at the last minute, the favourite in that election was Andy Burnham, the Blairites had no idea what was going to happen.

The PLP is still chock full of Blairites, so the left may have to campaign to lower the threshold to get Clive Lewis, or any other left wing candidate, on the ballot.

The problems in the Labour Party have not gone away. The PLP is still at odds with the membership, they've just gone quiet, besides there are bigger shit storms in the Tory party and of course Brexit for the chattering classes to amuse themselves.

So was Theresa May until recently. :-)

Very True! And the 20 or so Tory MPs
Who lost their seats! Imagine being sat there sitting pretty on £65k a year or whatever it is and then boom...you lose it in the blink of an eye when you could have sat on the gravy train for another 3 years minimum

I just sense that Lewis would be capable of adapting more to the PLP than Corbyn and that there is a danger for the left wing of the party if it places all its hope in Corbyn alone.

I think he is probably quite liking his job at the minute!

I suspect you're right :-)

Minimum indeed. If they had believed the forecasts and the expected lead they would have going into the battle, they'd have been looking at ten years in the Commons.
