Totally disagree an unhappy player a new stadium to pay for and new players to buy it would be silly to try and drag it out as city could just move on and leave spurs in the lurch.

Am a Spurs fan - think he will leave by the end of the window and wish him good luck, very good player and a great servant. However would be over the moon if he stays -WC year so he will want to perform. We get a player we rate at £50M+ on wages of around £70K pw - in the open market a player £30M alternative (no idea who this will be) to replace would want £100K plus. We have always spent what we have brought in regarding player sales so unlikely to make much difference to the stadium debt.

Think Levy & Pochettino would be over the moon if we keep him.

Annoying for us, but imagine how frustrating it is for the footballer involved in the tussle. This is his future the boardrooms are haggling over. You might argue that he should stick it for the wage, etc., but that's bollocks. End of the day, we're all people who want to live their life. Couldn't imagine having to stick your future on hold for so long without knowing what's going to happen.

I agree. It must be difficult. They've probably grown up with that life. The downside of a pretty fantastic career.

On a totally different point yesterday I read that Batigol had considered leg amputation for severe pain he had as a result of playing through injuries. Instead he had an operation but now walks with a pronounced limp

Txiki waiting until end of August then decides to pay Spurs hilarious asking price anyway (50m or more).

As things stand Fernandinho might become a regular at right back...
I doubt we will give a chance to Maffeo being second choice.

he did just sign a contract last year though, he gets the up side of this and would have gone in with eyes wide open.

Yes cause the London Evening Standard is probably a very reliable source. Usual bollox from a local source to suit their readers views. Why the hell would we wait till the end of August, we wouldnt.

With all respect he is far from 50m worth . I hate departe moves, But the problem there is annoying scarcity in this position. Hopefully they meet in the middle 'soon' with some 45m so we can move on. Would love once walker sorted that Maffeo is given a chance with Fernandinho is also another other option.

Two months ago he wasn't worth anything like £50m but all of a sudden its starting to look reasonable when you consider the prices being bandied about for other players.

I can not see any motivation for Spurs to meet in the middle. I do see the motivation to add another £10m on the price because of VVD valuation and Alves at PSG. The reality is that City will pay a mad fee or have to look elsewhere. Is there anything that could happen to force the price down? I can not imagine what that is. Walker asking to leave perhaps? But with 4 years on the contract, would Spurs simply refuse to let him go to a "rival" ? Sell him to someone else? Loan him out?

No i agree Walker isn't world class, exactly why i wouldn't pay £50million for him.

I think we need world class full backs as Pep likes them to be able to join the midfield and attack as well as defend. Anyway we're MCFC we should want world class players not mediocre ones.
Out of interest, what is your definition of World Class, there are so many views on this and without definition this is meaningless

That's what I'm thinking. Pickford and Keane just went for 30m. Even City would want to sell Hart who's 30 and in decline for 15-20m. With Dani Alves going to PSG Levy knows you need him more than we need to sell

You have a problem in that area, you could get more than half the cash back in a few years. The deal will happen but Levy isn't going to let you take the best full back in the league for 10m more than Keane
