If that were the case and Silva was THAT good last season, along with KDB being exceptional as well then I firmly believe you would have more than 78 points. As for Aguero you can see the guys dropped off, he got dropped for G jesus ffs.

Anyway, no need to derail this thread lads. Its the Alexis thread so lets get back to Alexis, cheers.
Sergio missed 7 games but still had his best goal scoring season

There weren't enough goals that's why KdB, Sterling and Sane should have scored more that's the reason

KDB wasn't exceptional last season (he was the season before), he was good in stages but really inconsistent, David Silva was exceptional last season.

Stats don't tell the full story and David Silva is a classic example of that, much like Iniesta. Silva was comfortably our best player last season just ahead of Sterling (who i'll bet you didn't rate highly last season either).

No I actually watched City a lot as many of your games were televised. I didn't notice him at all.
i've read every one of your posts so far.
i shan't waste any more of my time.
you are either taking the piss or need spectacles if you say you didn't notice david silva at all.

You seem to have DeBruyne and Silva mixed up on last season's showing.

Aguero dropped briefly and then came back and played arguably some of the best football we've seen from him in a City shirt.

I don't rate Sterling at all to be honest. Lad cant finish and sometimes looks as if he can't actually kick a ball properly, against its all opinions and such. I've never rated him even at Liverpool.

He of course has time to prove me wrong. I much prefer Sane though, majestic talent.

Again, you're just using stats for chances created. You ignoring how we get in that position to do so in the first place.
Exactly, thats the part of his game that stats can't account for. Unless you watch him in a full field environment you don't appreciate his movement and just how much those little passes add up. A phenomenal player still.

He managed 18 league assists last season, that is absolutely exceptional.

For me, just my opinion, but Silva has severely dropped off over the past two seasons. I wouldn't call him world class anymore. You as City fans of course will have a little bias towards him, incredible player to watch in full flow but just doesn't grab a game by the balls anymore.

Not sure if this is intended as a wind up or not? Probably shouldn't bite, but I will.

Silva has been the best player in the league since he signed for us. In terms of football intelligence and ability to run a game, no one comes anywhere near him in the league.

He's just come off his best ever seaaon for us and won our player of the season, but you think his form has dropped off??

There's one of two things going on here, you're either deliberately on a wind up, or you've sinply not seen enough of our games to make an informed judgement.

Many fans, including a significant number of our own, make the mistake of judging a player on his highlights reel or his "numbers". To do this shows a fundamental misunderstanding of football, and particularly a fundamental misunderstanding of David Silva.

I feel like De Bruyne had a lot more influence than Silva last season. Aguero now for me is just a poacher, he doesn't really do what he used to do (like Alexis does now).
Spoken by somebody who doesn't know what the fuck he's on about.

Oh dear - you haven't a clue - he was immense last season.

I literally said Silva dropped off, meaning that he's dropped off from when he was in his absolute prime for you guys, and some have had a hissy fit about it? :/

Isn't it obvious that a 31 year old would drop off from previous seasons? Like is that really a bad thing to say :/

I'd quit whilst behind, if I was you

Then again, if I was you, I'd have actually watched enough of Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero and Sterling enough to have a decent opinion

Huh? Aguero doesn't really get involved in the build up anymore or score solo goals like he used to. He's now a poacher, do you guys not realise that when these players get older they actually do drop off? Aguero has done, as has Silva. Silva has obviously, like I've been told, dropped into a deeper role and started pulling the strings from deep.

That's fair enough, but both have dropped off from their prime, prime form of say 2/3 years ago.
