Alexis Sanchez

Arsenal have to give us permission to speak to Alexis and his agent. If we've spoken to him and agreed a deal, we must have permission to do so.

Why give permission if you've no interest in selling the player to that club. I think teams in England can approach players from other English teams once they are within three months of the end of their contract. Any time before that has to be exclusive permission granted.

They'll sell him, they just have to play out the facade. Business decisions will always win and losing out on £50m will never be an option in the end.

We just have to hope Sanchez doesn't get itchy feet and go elsewhere.

If thats the case then surely we have "done a Liverpool" and shot ourselves in the foot.Hopefully its nothing more than plain stupid piss poor reporting.

I think the only way we would have had a chance at getting Sanchez is by convincing him first then asking him to force the move.

No way we would have chance if we went to Arsenal first and tried to negotiate.

I think we'll be ok with getting Sanchez but if we were to get Mbappe then I'd imagine Aguero would be off which I think would be fair all round, i.e.

Sane/Mbappe on the right,
Jesus/Sanchez in the middle,
Sterling/B.Silva on the right
- all interchangeable
- and other than Sanchez all young

But if Augero stays then great.

Looks good. But I'd like to see at least one person play from the left ;-)

All that I`m worried about is how it becomes so easy to jump too far ahead of ourselves but hopefully its nothing like the Liverpool fiasco. We would be stupid not to think we never "tap" players up in advance, which is the norm anyway, just dont give the ammunition for the Gunners (no pun intended) to fire.

I can't help but feel we'd sell Aguero for £50m if he had one year left on his contract.

And we're probably more trigger happy than Arsenal with the finances. This opinion makes me optimistic.

What ammunition have we given them?

From what i read, the issue with the Liverpool / VvD stuff was Klippity sending him dvds / tactical notes showing how he would fit in the team etc. Whether true or not i dont know.

I refuse to believe that any negotiation or effort into a transfer happens without the player having been informally asked before hand. Otherwise it is a waste of time and resource. But all clubs must do it which is why Liverpool must have done something above and beyond that to trigger the response it got from Soton.
