In truth, just imagine if a team were to sign Sagna, Zabs, Clichy, Navas, Fernando, Hart, Caballero, Mangala, Delph, Kelechi, Nasri, Nolito, Kolarov. I reckon that lot would achieve a top 8-10 finish.I often hear arguments that it tells us something about a player that no one is competing to get him ...but I think in this case it tells you more about the craziness of "group think" that Nasri isn't in huge demand by the likes of Everton, Southampton, Stoke, Burnley, Bournemouth, even Liverpool or Spurs, etc. Even at high wages I doubt that he's unaffordable for any PL club post TV-deal (surely a signing-bonus would take care of they cost above their wage ceilings).
We got Anelka when we were poor. He had a reputation of being a sulk but it was mostly irrelevant because he did his job great.
When you think of the level of player at some of the other PL clubs, more fool them.
(Same with Mangala)
