Neymar

Well done to Paris.

They have basically bought insurance against any further dodgy moves by Uefa and the established cartel of clubs.

There is not a commercial sponsor out there who would pay to sponsor a competition that didn't include Neymar.

It was different before, they didn't have anyone of any worldwide standing.

They have got in there first, ahead of our own dreams of similarly purchasing Messi, but the end game is mutually beneficial for both clubs.

If we were smart, we would push the envelope now on both Mbappe and Sanchez.

Now you are talking politics NOT football .

Neymar buying out his contract is nothing to do with FFP - its Spanish contract law. Quite where Neymar gets the money from is irrelevant. He has the right under Spanish law and is exercising that right. Its a separate process re Qatar buying Neymar and then loaning him to PSG - they will need to avoid issues regarding third party ownership but I'm sure PSG know what they are doing. La Liga are just being bullied by the usual two suspects.

Why would they need to convince America?

They are one of the few countries still propping them up and have a huge airforce base in Qatar.
Agree with the rest of your post but this bit is bollocks. There's no "few countries" propping Qatar up. They've excellent relations with everyone bar a handful of countries in the Middle East, especially the Uk, Canada, France, Italy, Turkey and Germany.

Qatar have no need of being propped up.

100 % Agree and more .

La Liga should tread carefully.
After the Bosman ruling football was warned that it was on shaky ground with its unique contract situations. If they push this to the European courts they may find that ordinary employment contract law will be applied to football.

Pffft. And what makes you such a knowledgable chap on Qatari affairs.....

I could give you £200 million and it would not be taxable as income.
I know in the United States, you can only gift $14,000 to someone without it being taxable. Anything after that the taxman comes calling. That being said, how can Qatar give him that much money, he spend it on European soil, and never have to pay taxes on it? Serious question, not familiar with European tax laws.

Apparently a club giving a player money to pay his release clause is now classed as a capital gain in Spain. It used to be classed as income.

When they pay the release clause it's classed as a capital loss.

You can offset the capital loss against the gain. Previously it was classified as income and you couldnt offset the loss against it.

Release clause has been paid apparently. Neymar's lawyers at the Camp Nou.

EDIT:

Neymar paid it.
So PSG surely avoid FFP?
Great work from them.
