Neymar

Just asked by Cadena COPE, Wagner Ribeiro, advisor of 25-year old Brazilian attacking star Neymar, confirmed Paris Saint-Germain have just paid Barcelona FC the whole exit clause set on him, amounting to the tune of 222 million euros, a world-record transfer. Ribeiro also told former Santos star, leaving Blaugrana after three seasons, will be introduced as a new PSG player before the end of next weekend.
Extremely big statement by PSG. Their reputation will now increase in eyes of other top players as well. Live in Paris, get paid big bucks and play with Neymar. Not bad.

Isn't he his former agent? Take it with a pinch of salt, he's stating the obvious, but I wouldn't take it as gospel from him if he isn't privy to it.

Thought he helped Neymar's dad out?
Was tweeting pictures from Paris this morning...one saying "green light, let's go".

I think he's trying to look involved to get some pr mate. I could be wrong, but definitely read this morning he is his former agent.

But no one has any interest in the French league. No disrespect but it's similar to Anzhi. Go and get £500k a week and smash teams like Nonce FC whoop de doo who cares?

Great move for PSG. Not so great move by Neymar. If he wants to be the World's best player, how does he do that in the french league. All the domestic titles, and domestic goals will be ignored.

So it's only me who's pissed off we didn't sign him then? I'm always disappointed when we don't go in for dick swinging contests with other big clubs. We do need a statement signing, not just on the pitch but the huge commercial oomph it would have given us, plus the statement to rivals they may as well fuck off and watch us win the treble.

Great move for PSG if this gets signed and sealed, for those wondering why Neymar has actually gone, he will become the poster boy for PSG and their league.

He isnt, and wont ever get that at Barcelona whilst Messi still plays. It wont stop him being touted as one of the worlds best and being put up for the Ballon D'or trophy either

There's no way we could have sanctioned that kind of bid and done the business we've done this summer. I can see us going balls deep for a player like that next season when the need for half a new team isn't there, shame we couldn't have been involved in this one but it's not something we'll massively regret.

You could say that about anyone who plays for Bayern.

If Brexit hadn't happened this transfer would have cost us £154m

Shame

I don't particularly like PSG, but I'm quite enjoying seeing the fallout this transfer will cause. It's good to see one of the establishment clubs having their noses bloodied by a cocky upstart.

The big difference is PSG will never have to deal with the local media fallout in the same manner we would have to.

Respect PSG! But, I enjoy even more LA Liga shock that somebody actually had balls (and brains) to pay the buy-out clause. Compared with Pogba and Lukaku transfers, they got themselves a bargain on and off the pitch. I wish we'd been smart to do this with Messi a few years ago....

if the story is true about buying out his contract at barca then its smells fishy and could be a 3rd part ownership but am puzzled about a player buying out a contract from the club and moving to somebody else that can not happen and the laws must have been broken with the registration of a player must be owned by a club so who owns naymer

this is going to bring down the FFP once and for all and movement of a player that can hold all the cards if he wants to play for anybody its a pay as you go move this could be the new bosman moment and player can rip up a contract and play anywhere for anybody for a single fee each season

FFP has nothing to do with this and there is nothing fishy about this deal. PSG's got a sugar daddy with a very fat wallet and good for them. The ten most expensive buy-out contract clauses are all with Barca/Real M players and there is suddenly outcry when somebody shat in their plate of paella.

Well done to Paris.

They have basically bought insurance against any further dodgy moves by Uefa and the established cartel of clubs.

There is not a commercial sponsor out there who would pay to sponsor a competition that didn't include Neymar.

It was different before, they didn't have anyone of any worldwide standing.

They have got in there first, ahead of our own dreams of similarly purchasing Messi, but the end game is mutually beneficial for both clubs.

If we were smart, we would push the envelope now on both Mbappe and Sanchez.
