Not being funny, but how are you able to make that claim that they do impress there because there is a certain disconnect with what you are claiming and what is unfolding re playing time for these young lads?

But it is typical for the teams who have dominated the title race this decade and are 1-2 in predictions for this year

No, the disconnect comes from people who assume that if a kid does well in training, the manager picks him.

If the manager is Pellegrini, he brings on Demichelis.

Pep may start to use some of them but most of these kids can impress in training. They are hugely skilled footballers.
 
I'd imagine both Diaz and Foden will be loaned out.

With both Silva' s there simply isn't a place for them. If Pep had seen something in either of them, he wouldn't have bought Bernado. Spanish Dave still has 2 or 3 season's in him.

There is a disconnect between the level the youth players play at and the first team, in Peps eyes. I believe that is impacting his decision making in some capacity and until there is a step change in said mentality the youth will never feature during his tenure.

I think its clear that Foden has impressed him, I think he'll stay, not sure about Diaz, maybe Gironna until January is a good option where he can get good game time.

Zinchenko looks phyisically ready too, he looked very good this afternoon.

I think I trust Pep's judgement over posters on here, he's a reputation from using youth, and he see's them every day, when we only get brief glimpses of them, his reputation has been earned well beyond a few bluemoon posters.
 
What we should be petitioning for is up to 5 subs allowed on the field. That'd sort out the wheat from the chaff...and it would allow more kids from all teams on the bench at least...

This coupled with the fact that he wants his team to be the one that succeeds.
Unless there is exceptional once in a lifetime talent available in the Academy I think he will always buy his proven young players rather than risk their development at PL level.
Perhaps he will bench a player or 2 at PL games but giving extended runs to academy players and allowing them to adjust is not likely to happen that is reserved for his players eg Bravo.

3 subs but allowed 2 more for 18 and below would work nicely I think.

Think the only problem Zinchenko has is he'd take one of the non home grown squad places, and always will I think, so I expect him to go on loan. If we do only have a senior squad of 20 then there is room for a few of the academy lads we only need 3 or 4 injuries or suspensions for them to be regulars on the bench.

I don't think he does in the league this year mate as he's under 21
