aguero and sanchez is better than an 18 year old mbappe and neymar. aguero and sanchez both at the prime of the career is seriously intimidating. add jesus/sane/sterling beside them... we have top quality all over the park. they're spending 350 mil on two players. I'd rather be in our situation tbh.
Aguero amd sanchez are both past their best. Do you see barca trying to buy them to replace Neymar. 2-3 years ago they would have been straight in. We wouldn't be in for Sanchez or Mbappe if Aguero was 23-24. I'd rather be in our shoes too because they are going to war with UEFA. I don't want to go through that again. Also we have a top coach. not sure about PSG.

TBH I'm starting not to care if City sign him or not. If he really wanted to play for you he'd be training in Manchester already. As it is it seems that he's fishing for the highest bidder, so even if Monaco won't sell to PSG and prefer City, I don't like the ideia of having someone ''against their will'', so to speak. Makes one too prone to tantrums and not giving their best. Moreover, Pep shouldn't have to almost beg to have a player. Players should realize what a privilege it is. Take Bernardo: ''You don't say no to playing under Pep Guardiola''.

So yeah, terrific player, future Ballon d'Or imo, but really... NEXT.

Who's to say we can't spend much more if we desire? As for PSG, they'll almost certainly sell a few players, for big money too, if they brought in Mbappe as well as Neymar the window doesn't close for another 3 weeks.
Yes they might sell some players. I don;t know what the cut off is before City get near the FFP limit. I'd imagine if we have a net spend of £140m and then have Mbappe in our sights we have to be careful.

But they can afford it. You're saying there is a strategy behind raising transfer values but I think that suits Utd more than anyone as they are the richest club. Our owners are wealthier but they cannot deploy it all in the transfer market. Utd can because their revenues are higher.
I don't see them interested in MBappe, Sanchez...rumours were still the old Bale and Ronaldo, Shame really because wesley sneijder was available :/

But they are against PSG too...which is what PSG's desire to give them a stick to beat them with is so confusing.

It's either politics or they have a legal challenge in mind.

Are they really against PSG...that sponsorship deal with Qatar Tourism seems a bit high compared to Etihad deal with us
without that sponsorship deal they wouldn't be able to spend so much or comply with FFP

disagree with them being past their best. they're no longer an investment. but 28-30 is when your mental game is peaked (composure, experience) and before you hit an athletic decline. That's the age of silverware right there. And perfect for us because we already have a young core right behind them. jesus sane sterling brahim sancho. IMO the only reason we're in for mbappe is bc there is a chance he is the next big thing. if you want to be the very best you always have to chance yourself with that. i think passing on him is better for squad harmony

Exactly mate there's no point in pep kissing his arse and begging him because pep would be talking football when all they want to hear about is money, which is fine but pointless from our perspective.

28-30 is normally the peak, but I am not sure with these two. Owen, Rooney peaked before then. Pace is key. When you lose that, you can't get your shots away and the little through balls behind the back 4 are no use to you any more. When was the last time you saw Aguero out pace a defender? Aguero is still a top player, and I would take him over Sanchez, but sadly I think we do need to start thinking about replacing him. Zabaleta went, Yaya has declined. None of them go on forever. Hopefully he's got plenty of goals left in him, and maybe Jesus will take some defenders away from him

We've not seen the towel thrown in yet.
We haven't really seen the towel yet, never mind throwing it in, so we (pep) may have discussed something with his entourage, but there is virtually nothing at all to back up our interest, outside of rumour. This thread is mostly hope or hype for me.

I'm sure we have an "interest" no club wouldn't, but I seriously doubt whether we'd be willing to pay the fee required by Monaco, even if he has shown us interest in coming, but our owner, and our board are quite conservative, and they don't ever look like speculators. Personally I trust their view.

Its very unlikely we will see Mbappe in blue this coming season (or any other) imho.

Does sound like extreme head turning and tapping up by PSG if he really hasn't agreed things with them yet, we'll see if that reporting story holds any water

agüero has grown a bit lazy imo. i think a player of similar quality and age, both wanting to end their competitive careers on a high, would bring out the best in him. i think injuries and lack of competition have turned aguero into a little less than what he could be. but idk... i really don't think there is a better player to put next to kun than sanchez. our other guys are great but just a little too young right now. mbappe would signify the time to start fading aguero out. not sure aguero would feel as well connected to the young guys and would probably suffer bc of it. sanchez gives him hunger again. just my opinion though.

Yeah, but that's only if we get Sanchez.
