Kylian Mbappe

We have 1 major factor AGUERO.

Sergio is already 1 of the top 3 forwards in world football then we have 1 of the best young kids in the world ANOTHER forward.

PSG have Cavanni who they would replace in a heartbeat.

It's as simple as above.
49 goals in 50 games last season... Not a chance they would drop Cavani, regardless of how highly they rate Mbappe.

Surely if it were as clear cut as that, we would have walked away by now

maybe we have....?

maybe he/his agent is giving us the right signals but with no real intention of ever signing....like i said, playing us....its happened before.

its like sanchez...if he really wanted to come he would just hand in a transfer request (officially)

Even though he is still a kid, I find it rather surreal that he would sooner stay in a substandard league, than either, a) play for Madrid or Barcelona, or b) play under Pep.

A couple of grand surely isn't the issue?

Utterly bizarre that he wants to remain in France. He will be ties to an enormous contract and his buyout will likely be higher than Messi's.

So in 3-4 years, if he fancies moving to England or Spain, unless he insists on a clause, he's trapped.

Ah well, soon find out.

He's Parisian, maybe even grew up as PSG fan. Why it would be bizarre to play in your city, wonderful and big, live with your family and earn the best money available in the club you're probably fan of.

I can't see anything bizarre there.

Were those his stats?

France or not, that's very impressive.

Yep, I'll have to be humble and say I was wrong bout him when he was moving from Napoli. I was saying I don't want him at City but he proved me wrong. He is top striker.

Good post mate.

I can only see two possibilities at PSG:

1. They are not in for Mbappe at all, which should not be that much of a surprise considering they have said they are not, and clearly the finances would be a problem.

or

2. They have some huge new spoonsorship deal or other commercial revenue in the pipeline. A massive hotel or chain of hotels or casinos or something ridiculous. Something that is going to boost their revenues dramatically.

Some people are suggesting that they have just told UEFA to stuff FFP. This is imho nonsense. FFP is not dead and they would be sanctioned, for certain, if they simply chose to ignore the rules. They are a professional outfit and there's no way on planet earth they have simply decided to ignore the rules. Would UEFA just let them get away with it? No chance. They'd have transfer bans, squad restrictions, fines and possibly (probably?) CL disqualification. They are not signing up for that. Either they have a shed load of as-yet unannounced revenue heading their way, or they are not in for Mbappe.
You can understand the headlines and excitement in France/Paris, but logic says that a club who have just bought Neymar do not then head for direct conflict with UEFA. They've just got ahead of the game why risk it.

He wants to play in the Champions League. If he goes to PSG, there is a serious risk he will not play in that competition. I thought he was a Real Madrid fan?

that's your assumption with currently absolutely nothing to back it with except people rumbling about it at forums and comment sections. Their club is run by people who are running multi-billion business for years, I'm sure they're better in running business and knowing the real situation in finance books of PSG then us here.

He's French, not from India, he'll have his French team first and then he can be Madrid or whatever fan.

We've done great business so far this summer and filled our biggest needs but this would be the one "statement" signing to put us on the map with the Barca/Madrid's of this world...I think this is more than about just signing a striker...its about showing we have arrived at the top table. PSG throwing money around like its growing on trees but if they go on to win the french league/CL people will soon forget how much they've spent. It would seem the time is now to get this guy signed....pay the money and have potentially the best "young" striker in world football for the next 10 years.....

No it's not an assumption. It's a matter of record that he's a Real Madrid fan.

I too would derive much more pleasure from seeing Brahim and Phil on the first team sheet than Mbappe in sky blue.

Forget this kid. Wonderful prospect and all but at the sums being quoted it would be ridiculous.

Let's focus on Sanchez or someone like Aubamayang

I want to see City win titles as many as possible and as soon as possible. I am not sure I am bothered whether that's with Silva and Aguero, or Foden and Diaz.

Assumption part is about hinting that PSG would be banned from Champions League. The same shit is being told regularly on other forums and from other fans about us. We don't sign a single player without reading - ffp is dead thing. FFP is dead and PSG will pass it, they're in just like we are.

He is Madrid fan, supporter or whatever, but he is from France. it's not really some exotic football country, it's one of the biggest football nations on the world. he'll have his French team first and than can have love/sympathies for other clubs too.

I'm not really into Bosnian league, but I know people who would die for their bosnian club but are very much into madrid/psg or rags/liverpool etc debate (unfortunately not us yet here).

Yeah I know, it was tongue in cheek.

I've posted before City/PSG is the owners version of City/rags to us fans.

Frankly actual war never mind just political differences is unlikely to stop financial deals being made and continued.
During the first world war Vickers and Krupp had patents for parts of the same shell used by both countries and they invoiced each other normally during same hostilities.

Whether or not Quatar and AD would ban trade like say Iran and USA until recently is debatable- The point being it took a political ban to stop trade rather than allowing free trade to stop financial deals.

Maybe football is different, I doubt it.

So you think he will sign a 10 yr Contract? I don't, no matter who he signs for

I want titles too, I think we can do it and bring through two of the most promising youngsters in world football. I don't believe the two are mutually exclusive.

City and PSG won't obviously go to fucking each other and buying someone's targets just because of each other but current political climate between two countries is such that deals between them two will never ever happen until it is resolved. There is huge and I mean huge hatred between two countries and clubs are not owned by some regular business people but by people from the top of states. Even regular people dealing with each other would probably be no as it would be seen as sticking fingers into the rulers and that's not really the smart thing to do in that part of the world. it's not really same as it would be in Europe, it's different thing.
