I think they played well, have bought well (Matic is exactly what they needed) and look like they'll be more attacking this season

They'll be in the top 4 come the end of the season I reckon

I think they'll go into their defensive shell against the very good sides though and they still have some bobbins players so a few will still finish above them

They'll be good with some real athletes and speed that will threaten teams. Being treated as the second coming of Barcelona '08-'12 is laughably OTT. They'll be found out soon enough.

Unfortunately that lot will make life difficult. No matter what you wanna make of it, but they have improved their squad and will challenge for the title. Hate it, but I'll accept it.

They're a much more typical PL side than ourselves. Big brutes & pace. Think they'll have a good season, especially with Chelsea a bit shaky looking, Arsenal not quite sure what's happening, Liverpool a bit thin on the ground & Spurs unchanged from last year.

None of their signings are particularly fantastic, but they've bought who they needed in positions they needed & it makes them a strong side.

Mourinho style + that team will make them pretty solid unfortunately.

Imagine people bigging up this united squad as if they're anything other than lucky with the added AMAZING ability to grind out wins by playing the most turgid, football killing game possible. Against what has to be the worst West ham side in recent memory, at home, in the first game of the season.

Make no mistake, they will be up there and probably progress in europe. But this isn't down to skill/ability/being a decent team, they are the luckiest set of bastards in the world, Competition Draws, refs, linesmen, Bounces - Will be what gets them to the top. Not the 100mil Dabbing Shelvey nor the 100mil Ibrahimovic replacement nor the Camera Pleasing Donut thief.

I genuinely can't believe people buy into their hype.

Unfortunately the wank fest will continue until mid October which is when the finally play someone from the top 6. They'll get the easiest group possible for CL.

Reality is they have an average squad and for some reason their 40m defender didn't even make bench today. They will get found out eventually, patience is key lads.

Top 4 is what they'll be competing for, won't come close to the title.

The media will convince everyone this squad can win the treble, don't fall for the hype.
