They are playing a Europa league tie on Thursday and they are not used to 2 games a week, we really should be winning this with a fresh squad

We should but we look a bit disjointed at the moment.

You just know that the fat one is gonna score.

I can see us grinding out a win like we did last week, won't be pretty though.

Everton are a decent passing team and I think they'll have a go, opening up the game. It's a perfect game for DeBruyne, Silva, Yaya, Sterling, Sane as a 5-man midfield in front of Danilo, Walker, Stones and Kompany & Aguero up top. 3-0 City.

Ederson
Walker
Kompany
Stones
Otamendi
Danilo
Fernandinho
De Bruyne
Silva
Aguero
Jesus

Bravo
Mendy
Toure
Gundogan
Sane
Sterling
B. Silva

2-1 City

I think Mendy, Gundogan and Bernardo are more likely to start against Bournemouth.

Hope we will get to see some energy and speed in this game. The Girona training match sometimes was a reminder of the lethargic Pellegrini-days.

They look like one of the slowest teams in the league. We should definitely play our pacey players. Also you just know that twat Rooney will score against us.

Both Kompany and Stones are much better suited to playing in the middle of a 3. And Otamendi isn't ideally suited to playing on the left. Its a formation that Pep wants to play, but it doesn't really fit the players we have.
True.

I don't think Mendy or Gundogan will start for some time. Mendy's missed most of pre season, wasn't fit enough to feature in Girona, and his role in the team requires very high levels of fitness. Gundogan is just getting back from a major injury. I think we'll see a few appearances from the bench before either start.

Think we could go to 4 at the back and bring Sterling into a front 3.
Against very weak squads a back 4 is the way to go - and yet, Pep went with a back 3 against Brighton.

Pep does like to switch formations- so who knows. But against a much stronger side in Everton, I think that a back 3 is warranted.

Everton matches often tend to be barometers for the the season and in truth they are always difficult opponents for us. Can only think of one season in recent years that we doubled them (2013-14). They also took 4 points from us last year so it should be a real test.

I have a feeling that it will come down to us taking our chances. If we do we win, otherwise...

Does anyone know when Mendy will be back?

Thought Danilo looked good against Brighton but could tell he had no left foot.

I want sane one side and sterling the other like we used to do,the rest i don't mind who plays

I would also like to see this.
When we did last season we seemed to play our best and most exciting football.
2 wide and one in the middle for me but seems unlikely at the moment.

the whooped us last season, so it is time to repay the favour (as they say). None of this tough game nonsense, we have the squad, we have the first 11 that could and should win. Set a marker down at the first home game of the season.

4-0 win
