Tough match IMHO. Always is. I'll say City win 3-1. It'll be tight and tense, but City will put it away in the last 10 minutes on the counter attack.
You don't want to see Mendy?I hope he start the same team he started in the 1st game. ( Even though its not my favourite formation or selection )
Think we have to get Sterling in this game somehow. The kid has looked very good in every game he's been apart of this preseason/season. Imo we have to let him go at it for a full game and see what he can create. I'd be inclined to go for a 4-3-3 this game even though I know it's unlikely. Aguero in the middle along with Sterling and Sane on the wings and KDB, Silva, and Yaya in midfield. A backline of Walker, Kompany, Stones, Mendy (If he's not 100% fit then Danilo) and Ederson in goal.
Dinho can't pass the ball the way we need him to though. I genuinely believe that if we had Yaya last game we would've broken down their bus a lot sooner. Dinho always seems either off or late on key passes. With Yaya he seems to know who to hit and when to hit them. Just my opinion ofc.Everton will give us a game in midfield so we need the energy of Dinho.Yaya is a liability when the opposition are capable of pressing us.
Obviously Gundogan would be preferable to both, when fit.
Against Brighton, and the way they set up,i agree,Yaya would have been very effective.Everton wont play the same game IMO,and until the combination skills of Gundogan are available,i believe Dinho will offer us better protection, his distribution isnt as poor as you infer either.Dinho can't pass the ball the way we need him to though. He's not a bad distributor I apologize if I made it sound that way. What he is is a notch below Yaya in that area. We both seem to agree that Gundogan would be the best of both worlds whenever he becomes available. My main concern is getting Sane and Sterling into the lineup in positions where they can thrive (Sane as a pure winger and Sterling just on the pitch in a forward position). I would prefer Yaya but seeing Dinho in the lineup wouldn't upset me.Against Brighton, and the way they set up,i agree,Yaya would have been very effective.Everton wont play the same game IMO,and until the combination skills of Gundogan are available,i believe Dinho will offer us better protection, his distribution isnt as poor as you infer either.
I like Kompany in the middle too but I honestly think Pep is trying to protect Stones in a way. The CB out wide has to defend like a fullback at times and has to defend 1v1. I think he's trying to avoid Stones from looking foolish. David Luiz looked like a world beater last season playing in the middle.
