Alexis Sanchez

Aguero had less than one shots per game more than Sanchez last season but scored less goals and in the chances created for others stakes, Sanchez was way ahead. Sanchez also made more dribbles and tackles than Aguero.

The fact is that last season, Sanchez was more productive and more of a threat than Aguero. That's why Pep wants him.

There's no doubt that Sergio's conversion rate in the last 12 months or so merits scrutiny. In fact we've reached the point that whenever a City player, be it Sergio, Sterling, Jesus or Spanish Dave, is clean through on the opposition keeper, I automatically expect them to miss, be it courtesy of a tame scuff or a hapless blaze 15 feet over the crossbar. Our finishing, along with our crossing, is frankly shamefully bad.
The mitigation that I will afford anyone in a sky blue shirt, is that they are invariably having to get their shots away in packed areas with a forest of bodies either in the way or converging on them. I'm not knocking Pep for it, but it's almost an inevitably given the way we play, and along with our high defensive line it's part of the reason I don't think we will win anything under his stewardship, no matter how aesthetically pleasing we are or how much we spend. We're operating a system with too many flaws for this league and which every opposition team has worked out

Guy on Twitter adamant that this will be confirmed on the 30th August (week today). With the news from Ric tonight it all looks promising. Monumental signing of it goes through.

Sanchez this summer, Messi on a free next.

Do you think your theory holds true for the Champions League as well?
