It is widely reported that they have improved and will be up at the top towards the end - what people don't seem so keen on pointing out is that they have played 3 teams who's managers(in all likelihood) will be sacked before the end of the season

If we get 90 points then there is fuck all Untied can do, we will win the league.

What if they get 91?

The one thing Mourinho has done in the close season is not let many players go. He will know there are players there who are not good enough long term but with with new signings (2 with vast prem league experience) he clearly wanted the side to be as familiar with the league and each other as possible for this season, particularly the early part. It is that for me which will serve them well in the first 3 months and not conceding goals
Will also help long term.

I think Pardew had it right on Saturday with his comment that he sees them slightly ahead of us at the moment. We have made wholesale changes and it will take time for these to bed in. Over 38 matches though this move by Mourinho will be evened out.

So far Arsenal look a shambles, Spurs are going to suffer at Wembley and Everton won't be close to the top 6 sides this season.

Liverpool look exciting to watch and if they sell Coutinho and buy a defender they may be more solid. We look exciting, full of effort but not quite the finished article. Sanchez would help no end. Chelsea suddenly look good again. He is clearly a good manager.

If I had to bet on top 4 it would be those clubs. Not sure what order yet.

Another offside goal awarded on Saturdays shocker.

They really do get all the "luck"

You mention 7 clubs.

West Ham were rubbish, didn't see Swansea but Leicester were well organised and difficult to break down. Rags are playing better than I saw them last season, still very early days.

They look genuinely good this year, think they could get 5th spot.

With a little help from this man....

This made me laugh, especially as they love to comment on our home support:

What will it take for the Old Trafford atmosphere to rise above the lukewarm? José Mourinho was critical of the noise levels at home last season and was at it again after the win against Leicester on Saturday, making an unprompted half-joke that he knew Marcus Rashford had scored because it was the first time he had heard the crowd. The clearly premeditated point came as no surprise to anyone who, a couple of minutes after Marouane Fellaini had made victory certain, saw Mourinho turn to the fans behind his dugout, cup his ears and shrug his shoulders. The disappointments of the post-Ferguson era may well have taken a cumulative toll but there is clear evidence that Mourinho is taking United in the right direction and perhaps he is right to wonder whether everyone might pull together a little more. United are going well, but there will be days when they need the kind of push he feels they are not receiving.

Not seen it but heard it was offside, just. But only replays on Sky keep showing the correctly disallowed goal for Mata for offside. Nothing on the joke penalty also.
Also next to nothing about the 1st ever starting line up in PL history to cost over 400 million or any price comparison against the Leicester line up.
We all saw how much of a helping hand they had last year, unbelievable cup draws esp Europe and even needed officials help to win the Carling Cup where Southampton were the better team and robbed by the officials.
See Rooney has 2 yellows already this season, think both for dissent. Shows how much that red jersey he wore protected him
