Clubs in Europe ask TOTALLY different monies from PL clubs than they do clubs from other leagues. Hence Milan can buy Bonucci for 35 million but Chelsea were quoted 60 million. Your comparison with Bonucci is therefore absolute nonsense.

You know how long ago that was dont you? For me he is better than Smalling and jones Evens is a better all round footballer with a brain unlike the other 2 oh players learn by there mistakes and improve.

Apart from bravo you mean.£30m when just £8m more would have got you Bonucci and £18m more would have got you Naby Keita. You know it's bad when you hear the rag media urging us to sign him. This could be a candidate for our worst signing of the Mansour era.

Okay, Bonucci perhaps as he wanted to stay within Italy for personal reasons. But don't forget that he was sold to a rival club. Keita, on the other hand, was sold to an English club. Rudiger went for £30m plus £3m in add-ons. Bakayoko went for £40m. It looks aweful business however you look at this.

I do wonder about our scouts.
Many teams find absolute gems for peanuts whilst we continually pay over the odds and so can't improve all the positions we need.

I'm not arsed about the money and I know he's a munchkin,but if he's got the balls to come get behind him.my initial thoughts were pretty much the same as everybody but you can see why pep wants him. He's got the experience,not bad on the deck and seems reliable.i think it could be a good signing, I'll make my judgement when I see him live in a blue shirt.

If the fee is thirty million or even 25 million its a lot of money spent on a player who will not improve us and will have no sell on value.
The other thing is why, if accurately reported, do we have to substantially increase his wages? The guy should be desperate to come and have one last shot at the big time rather than us have to tempt him with significantly improved wages which results in us being stuck with him whether we wish to move him on before his contract expires. Its like groundhog day and were storing similar problems for ourselves at a future point in time.

You claim it to be a "garbage argument" without justification. I'm comparing fees that English clubs have paid this transfer window, so you can hardly complain that the comparison isn't valid. Everton signed Michael Keane for £30m and you think Evans for the same price is good business...
