Didn't he ask for a pay off before leaving Villa? I remember the transfer was all set to go through and got called off at the last minute, before miraculously springing to life again.

He could play the Fernandinho role if he stays.
Nope he's not disciplined enough - he looked good during his last year at Villa as he had licence to be the one to drive them forward with others told to sit. He should be looking to move on but seems to be staying so I guess he will play in the Caraboo cup or whatever it's called.

There is another side to it when it comes to a footballer.

That is to play... Any footballer should want to play. There's not even a reserve league any more.

Delph literally will be just training for an entire season.

I'd take a pay cut (considering how much they get paid) to go and play first team football in the Prem somewhere.

Although to be fair, i'd enjoy getting £80,000 pw to train too :-)
Indeed they should want to play but i expect there are some who just want to take their money

Delph knocked back Stoke. Believes he can get 1st team action at #MCFC despite being 6th in midfield pecking order. Stoke looking elsewhere

When fit he is a good player and showed glimpses of his talent. He must think he can play DM because we have Gundogan, Bernardo, David and KDB for two positions.

Maybe he backs himself to take over Dinho's role, it's not out of the question.

I like him he's a player with great energy and is a true fighter. He's defensively solid but I'm not too sure if he's good enough on the ball for to play DM.

Hoping he's off, as him staying is bad news for Foden and I'd rather we see the lad develop than accommodate someone we don't particularly want

Is he? The way I see it, he's an absolutely terrible footballer who should be nowhere near our squad.

Thats just nonsense. He played an absolute blinder of a game, scoring a beauty, towards the end of last season.

The reason being,he was fully fit.

That's very true because he has never been fit enough to show what he is really capable of whilst with us.

It's hard to dislike Delph, he's a real professional, offers decent back up and occasionally turns up and puts in a real shift, but I do wish he'd fuck off.

Same question back to you. I'm saying what looked like a good buy at the time hasn't turned out that way due to him being injured and on wages that other clubs can't pay so we still don't make a profit, so far.

No, I was responding to a poster who said it was a mystery that we bought him in the first place. As I have explained, that is simply not true.

I have never said it turned out to be a good buy.
