Thanks for your message Eds. I definitely think we had some poor decisions against us last year but having poor decisions and concluding their is a collusion of numerous individuals to conspire against us is an extremely long stretch for me. I also believe that the majority of people are decent and honest and of all the refs which are part of PIGMOL, executives at the refs asdociation I think one would have acted as whistleblower. For example John Williams who oversaw the refs as, circa 2012 was an ex-Manchester City director. Was he biased against us? By all accounts was highly respected by the club and a thoroughly decent man.

I don't think there is a conspiracy against us. I believe the refs are incompetent but why wouldn't they be, there seems very little accountability without which standards drop.

I also think, and I know you'll disagree with this, that the fact we're painted as the pantomime villain of English football plays its part, subconsciously these refs tend to give 50/50s against us as we are the bad guy.

Mark Clattenberg was recently in Perth and said the same, refs are ask d to be very sure they saw an incident when in a situation of appeals because, "if you haven't acted accordingly at the time and you have seen the whole incident, then why not? is the obvious question and one refs are in a position where they either hang themselves or say they didn't see it clearly. They are only human so why hang yourself and don't get a premier league for a period or toe the line and nobody bats an eyelid.

I was always of the opinion that football as an industry was way too important to the economy to be allowed to become dogged by incompetent (at best) officiating. It wasn't that long ago that the top officials gained professional status. But over the years I have become far more cynical. You only have to look at issues in other sports such as cricket that have had match fixing issues and well publicised problems with Italian football. You have to be pretty naive in my opinion to dismiss the possibility. Football and its associated media in this country is run by executives who grew up in Surrey with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal duvet covers. The popularity and success of these teams are seen as vital to the continued growth of the 'product'. I have seen some terrible decisions at City both before the Sheiks arrival and a very much increased frequency since his arrival. The club cast in the role as Dick Dastardly by the press cannot be seen to prosper too much, (although us being there adds to the spice). The moment that I was convinced that there is an agenda, not necessarily against City but any who challenge the established European elite was watching Barcelona v PSG and the 'amazing' turn around at the Nou Camp. There is loads of evidence. Quotes from Beckenbauer at Bayern saying the Milan clubs should be 'helped', Agent Woodward now on the UEFA board, the desperate rantings of Sebas at La Liga, and many more I cannot be bothered to recall or catalogue. But the evidence is there and rears it's head on an almost weekly basis. When Talkshite have journalists labelled as football politics experts then your theory about everyone being thoroughly decent and upright definitely falls down.

I can't say with any conviction that there is a direct agenda against City. However, what I see week-in week-out across the PL is careful game management by match officials in what strongly appears to be an attempt to manipulate results to suit an agenda. As we don't fit into the current agenda (we certainly aren't in favour in media circles), we are more likely to get lot of, let's say strange decisions against us. With some of the comments from ex PL officials (Halsey especially) then I think people are deluded if they can't see that the PL isn't always a level playing field.

Mendy I'm going for

I'm going for Stones as they seem to be targeting our English players. He will be sent off for hand ball when heading a corner kick clear, whilst both hands are behind his back. Pen as well, obviously.

It surely can't be too long before a referee scores against us, I can just see it now. Mane penalty, Ederson save and Moss taps in the rebound claiming he couldn't get out of the way.

Moss is a pretty lazy ref who generally doesn't get make controversial decisions, I know he sent off Nolito against Bournemouth last year but it was hardly controversial.

It's not just the games won that should be considered. It's those stats that don't tell us where and when he didn't issue a card to an opponent, issued one to us, not awarded a free kick when there was a clear foul. We might not have dropped points but it's the suspensions et al that mount up or don't mount up that can change a season. No stats to show that Player X wasn't available for a more crucial match than the one Jonny reffed. Or a competitor's Player Y should be missing the next match but goes and scores the winner. He's a placeman. The results stats don't tell the whole story.

The whole Italian match fixing scandal was down to multiple teams ensuring opposition players were suspended in games against them.

haha brilliant , i could imagine the 4th official running onto the pitch swinging his shirt wildy round his head and ending with a 10 metre knee slide.

Have just received an invite to attend a refs meeting where the one & only Anthony Taylor will be in attendance. Any questions you Bluemooners would like me to ask the great man.

Taylor was guest speaker at my old boys dinner earlier this year. I was all geared up to give him a load of helpful questions after advice from the great unwashed of bluemoon, though ended up not going. Shame, I was looking forward to that!

Who changed your mind about the Aguero/Luiz incident at the Etihad last season? You raised your whistle as if to blow and then suddenly gestured to play on, why?

Why did you not officiate in a City game after that in the league last season?

Which games has he scewed us over? Just had a brief look at our record, from my count with him as ref it appears we have won 11 drawn 2 lost 1 of the games he has officiated.
He has a selective interpretation of playing advantage when it comes to us versus the red scouse

As @Graeme Souness has posted, hammer him with Alty questions, last 3 managers, away kit colour, my question for a knockout would be ....What's the name of the league Alty reserves play in?
