Lol with money. It's rotten to the core .

When the head of the premier league comes out with "We need a successful man Utd " I think it confirms there is clearly a bias / agenda to that aim.
A former agent all but confirmed this on talkshite with regards to the next TV deal he predicts will be even bigger than this one as the Chinese will happily pay billions to broadcast their favourite succesful clubs.

Why did Liverpool fans give Raheem Sterling dogs abuse for wanting to leave yet cheered Coutinho onto the pitch, not heard the media say anything about this except Adrian Durham giving it out to Liverpool fanson talkshite now

Because he's still there at the minute, once he's fucked them off and joined someone else he'll be a disgusting piece of white for wanting to better himself.

Been reading and listening to Dutch media these last few days. Hardly a surprise that it's been mentioned over and over again how much our squad costs and how the Sheik changed the club (not the fans, but that's not worth mentioning) and the big difference money wise.
Again hardly surprising that none of this has been mentioned when Feyeniord played the rags last year. Or when a Dutch team plays Real or Barcelona.

In a way it proves the old point that you get what you pay for.

Our wise spending from football generated revenue has given us a team that outclassed the Dutch team. I suppose all European (non PL) sides are now aware that they do not share in PL income so maybe this year they would use the same reasoning should they play any other PL club.

Unfortunately they do not share in this fund and as far as I know have not increased their income by selling their players to a PL team with the premium this usually brings. So I suppose they are right and we should be classed with the RM, Barcas and PSG,s of this world.

Last night BT talked our money from the first minute of the build up,numerous times then again during the comms,i watch all the big CL games and no other team get this treatment, they failed to say how many players we released/sold and had to replace hence we spent the money,it's bloody tiresome

Agreed.

BT finally gave us and City a proper CL show last night. Richard and Julian were a bit wooden as pundits, but were very positive about City. TBF you wouldn't expect anything less seeing as they were both ex-City players. Thought Keown was also good. All in all BT did a good job last night, which went some way to making up for the disgraceful way they've treated us and City previously in the CL. Hopefully this will be the new format from now on in the CL until the knockout stages, when sadly we will go back to the usual pundits who have attached City, us, empty seats and the atmosphere in the Etihad.

A big thank you should also go to the club for putting pressure on BT over their coverage and biased against City in the past. Well done all.
Yeah there was not much chemistry there, the host seemed to be scaring them both with his huge plastic grin, Dunny is normally quite quiet and reserved as a pundit and Joleon hasn't done it much but seems the same... they need a big mouth character to balance it out, Micha Richards will be great at it when he's ready to retire IMO.

I thought the coverage was decent. Although it seemed that BT decided that Feynoord v City was the 3rd choice fixture, only to be watched by ardent City fans. Hence there was no point antagonising us. I expect that they'll continue to give greater prominence to the Liverpool and Spurs games (clearly Liverpool v Maribor is a much bigger fixture than Napoli v City) throughout the group stages. I'm actually hoping that we progress serenely through the group stages with very little media coverage.

At some point in the tournament I expect that the City fixture will undoubtedly be the stand out match and BT will feel obliged to treat it as the big game, honouring us with the presence of Ferdinand, Owen etc. That will be the acid test as to how the coverage compares to the last two seasons.
To be fair City fans are now warming to European football as a whole(that's one thing Pep has already brought, we've never looked so comfortable in the CL), Liverpool and their fans are mad about it and haven't been in it for a while, I can see why they might make more of a fuss about them for the openers.

The Spurs thing I don't get, we have been in the CL way more than them now... we've also won the Premier League more than them, why are they constantly trying to push them ahead of us when it's not warranted?

I think if they want someone who knows what they are talking about, and has some character, look no further that The Goat.

In a way it is a compliment that we invest our football derived income on players.
Surely that is the same for others and if not why not.

I am proud our owners still have ambition and will invest in world best manager and team by putting their profits back into football. Other clubs sell to make profits for their shareholders to distribute, we make profits to buy the best we can afford.
If BT or any other media sees that as a problem then perhaps they should check out their Business Plan that seems to SPEND on PL live football gambling on increasing subscribers they of course see this as investment so allow us the same privilege.

They use it as a stick to beat us with,we should win because we have spent so much money,it's never we should win because we are playing great football,it's the tone and words that none of the other english team get

BT couldn't push the money angle anymore than they did last night though.

I'm honestly not so sure its any Agenda any more, what with how long we've had the increased investment for - its hardly new - more than a sheer laziness about the narrative to apply to City. It simply is a 'go to' subject to fill some of the 'padding' airtime which now occurs before and after each game, and in all the talking shops, Monday night clubs, supplements, press packs radio shows etc etc. Struggling to get an angle on City? 'Money' = the low hanging fruit
