That would seem the most obvious team but we'll see...

main thing is to see how aresenal cope when the ball is being dominated by the opposition as they wont be used to this...

hopefully we play as we have been and think even the most biased arsenal fan would agree that results in a city win if so...

3-1 i'll predict

Being over confident versus teams like Arsenal can bite you. Even if there is any reason to be optimistic. I am, optimistic that is, but still very much weary of the threat they can be on their day. From that point of view they seem more unpredictable as well. 0-0 vs Chelsea, although that hardly seems an achievement today, and 0-4 vs Liverpool to take two.

I expect pretty much the same team with Walker back in and probably Silva as well. And as we are building a fortress again, I think we will win this one. Again the beautiful football is a bonus, but that often comes with the way Pep wants him team to perform (love the "outscoring the opposition" mentality). A win and we can sit back and relax to watch the late kick off and see if it brings us in an even more comfortable situation before the international break.

Going to be a tough game after Napoli - Arsenal resting Lacazette, Sanchez and Ozil tonight apparently too. This Arsenal side have a bit more resilience than last season too. After the Liverpool mauling, they've been fairly astute in matches. Watford showed a soft side, but clean sheets at Stamford Bridge and hammering Everton at Goodison, shows they do travel well. Going to be an interesting match, and even more-so with Chelsea - Rags after our match.. Arsenal face Spurs and the Rags in the next month too.

Ozil and Lacazette both don't track back or work hard.
Ramsey goes missing in their midfield and leaves gaps.
If we can get Xhaka booked early doors too that will make him basically useless.

I can only see the boys scoring 3 minimum again.
Granted, going forward they can be good and will create chances. Just that whenever we play a team that don't park the bus we destroy them. Actually we destroy teams who do park the bus too.

5-2 City

Arsenal will setup to play at pace on the counter and that remains our weakness. With Walker in ahead of Danilo we will be more assured at the back but they will look to get at us and then sit back.

The face we won in Napoli gives us huge confidence and it will be about managing fatigue. If it is 0-0 after 65minutes then will we have the energy to push for a winner without conceding.

Last game before another international break of course so one last push to win this game and then hopefully sit back and watch the rags lose. With bernardo jesus silva walker largely rested we are in excellent shape. And if we play the expected 11 having gundogan on the bench too gives us so much.

Beating Arsenal and hopefully seeing the rags slip up afterwards would be a sensational start to the season. 7/8pt lead and potential to rest in upcoming CL games ahead of key prem fixtures.

Hard one to call in terms of which Arsenal will turn up.

I'd be shitting it if I was them though.

Need to work out a way of keeping KDB and Ferna fresh (everyone else is getting rested bar them)

But how can you leave either out at present?

Got to use gundogan for de bruyne it wouldnt see us drop off from current form. Danilo or delph to cover ferny and the other at lb. Or yaya depending on the opposition. Ferny is key though. Without him the balance isnt there.

If Sanchez is still coming in Jan incentive for him not to perform and fuck up chance for a winners medal in may!

If they have to play Mertsesacker, then Sané, Jesus/Agüero and Sterling could have a field day getting in behind their back-line; although Mertesacker is very good positionally.

Some team news from our side. Seem to be struggling on the defensive side, Mustafi out, both Koscielny & Kolasinac struggling with injuries, both would be massive losses.

Midfield and forward line will likely be Xhaka, Ramsey, Ozil,Sanchez, Lacazette barring any last minute injuries.

We'll likely change the full team vs Red Star tonight so playing tonight shouldn't affect us too much.

We'll do well to even take a point from you guys the way both teams are playing. We only know 1 way to play really, & when on form like this you guys are better than that than us.
Koscielny would be big loss. Kolasinac I'm not sure about. But I agree with you that Mustafi out is a bonus for Arsenal. It would be very bold to play that forward line at City but then that's Wenger.

I am still in awe of how Pep has adjusted the team since last season. I have zero sympathy for Arsenal. Let’s tear them a new one.
Would love to see Diaz at some point, even if it’s on the bench.

Ederson
Walker

Arsenal are such an erratic team is difficult to know what will happen. They will likely play a b team in the EL so will be perfectly fit for us.

Hopefuly Sanchez goes easy on us if he's joining later in the season. Also depends what version of Ramsay and Ozil turn up, pub league or champions league? Lacazette is a good finisher so will be dangerous from any half chance he gets. Play how we have recently and should kill their defence.

Only concern is the Napoli game likely took a lot out of our players so will be interesting to see if we keep the intensity up.

Anything can happen after a CL game but 1 last push before the break i think we can do,i prefer us away from home as can be slow to get going at home but i'm going win, something like 3-2

Huge game.

Arsenal won't sit back, so there will be a lot of space there to exploit. If KDB performs we should tear them apart.

Sane pinning back Bellerin will hugely hurt them, can Delph do a number on Sanchez?

Much as Id love to hand them their arses :) (if nothing else, revenge for the mauling we got at Maine Road many moons ago when Henry a Co. were 5 - 0 up after 20 minutes - I stood with others and applauded them off at half time too) this will not be a shoe in and we'll have to watch their counter. They can be weak in certain circumstances but expect them to be fired up with Coquelin, Shakha and others kicking our playmakers. If they play openly, which they prefer, we'll do them. I suspect however Wenger will be more astute. and attempt what he has found to be successful against us previously. Unfortunately for him this is not the same City side he faced on those occasions.
I hope for 5 - 0 but suspect it will be a lot closer, say 4 - 0 lol.

I agree they didnt used to sit back, against anybody, but recently I think they have been done so against 'bigger teams', so i'm not sure about that. I actually expect them to play on the counter against us nowadays, esp when we are at home.
