I particularly liked your comment about not being under any illusion about how bad your club are at the moment. You're a genuine fan, you recognise your club's shortcomings and admit that things are not good. Fair play to you. That's something rag followers could never do, admit that their team is crap. They live in a fantasy world created by Sky and the tabloids and they're told that everything about their club is brilliant and wonderful, Peggy can do no wrong and is the football worlds greatest ever tactician, Lukaku is the greatest player since Messi and was an absolute steal at 90 million (or whatever the cost of the useless lump really was).
Rag fans don't see the truth because they don't want to. They don't want to accept that Maureen's ultra-expensive hoofball is a disgrace to the Premier league. That real football fans could not and would not pay good money to watch their team camped in their own half just wildly booting the ball up at a fucking human totem pole hoping for something to happen.
