Riyad Mahrez

Watching that game tonight, he left Simpson 2v1 v Martial/Young too many times, sometimes not even bothering to help out, maybe under a different manager he might sort it but it does seem to let him down when he can't be bothered running back.

Sort of makes it look like he's gonna work hard then soon as someone goes past him he gives up and strolls about :D
In their title winning year, he was all over the place in defence & attack. It seems they all went off the boil after their unlikely win, but that started from Ranieri all the way down imo.

In a structured Guardiola team, I think he'd flourish.

Overly simplistic to compare one player vs another in this case

Mahrez is a terrific talent and absolutely at the level to play for the best teams in the world, I think he's sensational and too good for Leicester

Look at Sterling's improvement since the Euro debacle; it's been magnificent. Anyone who dismisses Mahrez as not working hard enough is underrating Pep's ability to get the best out of a player.

I love watching him, that is for certain. The ease at which he goes past defenders is absolutely fantastic. Technically he is extremely gifted, it is the mentality side of things which leaves me wondering.

There was a time not long ago that Silva & KDB were considered too lightweight to play together in a 3 man midfield which is why we played 2/1 in midfield as opposed to the 1/2 we now play.

I had no doubts all along that Pep would make it work. For Mahrez see Silva & KDB.
