But if we sign a left back, Delph hasn’t got a place anymore. That’s a bit harsh considering how he’s performed. Danilo can cover both positions until mendy comes back in April.

For that sort of money he'd have to be a guaranteed starter every game. I am 100% happy with our centre halves when everyone's fit, the only issue is injuries kicking in. It was pure bad luck that Stones got injured just as Kompany came back.

For me Stones and Otamendi are our first choice defenders. In an ideal world them two will play the majority of games in the second half of the season with Kompany coming in when one of them needs a rest. That way Vinnie has less chance of injury because he's now become the back up CB so isn't playing as much. Not a bad option to have as back up! Then Tosin/Mangala can battle it out to be 4th choice.

It would be nice to have another option at centre half in Jan but if clubs are asking that sort of money we can easily manage with what we've got.

Last season possibly but not now that Ota has improved considerably and VVD has shown himself to be a bit of a twat with his behaviour after not getting a summer move. I'd be very happy with Martinez.
