Vincent Kompany injuries

With limited foreign squad places we can I’ll afford him in the squad. Need to find him a job at City - such a shame but can’t see him stringing 1 games together back to back again - hope I’m wrong.

I agree on that. Fingers crossed he will leave the club as a Champion.

Because it’s all about breeding a winning mentality...
He’s been captain of the first team and of his country.
He’s been a model professional
He’s intelligent and articulate.
Experienced
Won things at City
If Gerrard (slip) can do it for the juniors at Liverpoo then why can’t Vinny for us?
Perfect role model...if coaching is not his forte he still can have an influence in some management capacity. Nearly a decade at the club...he has earnt the chance!!!!! Cold have a massive influence on the youngsters.

And I’m gutted to see his career ending in this way for him...absolutely gutted.

Vinny = true pro

This. He has everything it takes to be a great coach and a great manager one day — man management skills, tactical nous, leadership, top-level playing experience, popularity and respect from others in the game (both current players and retired pundits) and he's articulate and intelligent with the media.

We should have enough to last the season out without Vinny playing much of a role especially now that Stones is nearing a return.

4 quality players , 2 in defence including a CB a DM and a striker will complete the picture in the summer.

I suppose the medical staff will make an assessment and decide what's best. I would guess that Pep has already decided, and he's the boss.
Either way I'll always remember being at the Etihad that night in 2012 against United. I'd been nervous all day, couldn't concentrate on anything, I felt desparate. I needn't have worried, because Captain Kompany stepped up.

Here’s to you Vincent Kompany, City loves you more than you will know!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the bloke, he’s got 18 months left on his contract and he’s earned enough trust, respect and loyalty at this club to do whatever he thinks is best for him, his health and well-being. Mentally it’s got to be driving him absolutely insane not being able to do what he loves but he’s as tough as they come and only he will know when enough is enough.

As a club we need to go and get another top class centre back due to Vinny’s injuries but he’s still good enough to challenge for a place in the first XI when he’s fit.

Miles Davis once turned to Sugar Ray Robinson after he'd received a particularly one sided beating and said, "Its over, Ray." Vincent, Captain My Captain.... Its over.

Except he’s got 18 months left on his contract. It won’t be over till his contract has expired. Hopefully he can go out lifting one last trophy for us at the end of next season.

Cant see him getting a job at City

Sadly I think the writing is on the wall and has been for a while now but what a fantastic servant the man has been for our club.

What does one say to that. I couldn't give a shit how wealthy he is, or how privileged he has been.

No athlete deserves the wretched run of injuries Vinny has had.

Enough is enough. The guy is a legend at the club, always will be and hopefully get him in the coaching staff.

These constant injuries are not only costing us 1 tactical substitution a time but tarnishing his legacy.

Fair play to him for keeping on trying and I would love him to get fit and stay fit as, on his day, he is a rock and bleeds city.

Either way, get some cash spent in Jan before it’s too late.

tarnishing his legacy.

How is it tarnishing his legacy? He's injured. It's not his fault. He was almost in tears walking off the pitch. His legacy would no doubt be greater, and we probably would have won more silverware had he been fit, but the legacy he has established hasn't been tarnished by something he can't control.

He is now a sick note. All he does is come back, limp off and miss a few games. Repeat. He offers very little to the team apart from experience and his leadership skills.

You can even tell Pep is losing patience with it.

It’s a shite situation.

Do you think he's pretending to be injured then?
