Inigo Martinez

Martinez and Hernandez in with Mangala out and Kompany moving into a more cup based role? That way Kompany doesn't have to play often and isn't thrown into the lineup as soon as he's healthy. Allows him to lead our next generation (Tosin/Brahim/Foden) in games where usually it's just a random assortment of players thereby making him a sort of bridge leading the kids. Just throwing ideas out there.
 
Martinez is much better than Mangala. Martinez can actually pass the ball under pressure. For £28m can't go really wrong. Fits the profile technically, decent age as well. Would be good signing.

Mangala will probably go out on loan if this happens. We have Danilo and Zinchenko to cover LB if something happens to Delph.

That’s really unfair on mAngala, he deserves to stay till the end of the season and get a PL medal.

No chance anyway tbh, Kompany is the liability, not Mangala. Signing Martinez and letting Mangala go would leave us just as short at CB as if we did nothing at all
 
He´s a good center back. Last game he played left back, because of Real Sociedad´s injuries in the left side of the defense. He did make some crosses and end up with an assist (low smart cross). He´s not the best at positioning and decision making but he is decent. I have some trouble seeing him against Morata, Lukaku, Kane and Lacazette because he´s a bit impulsive and ends up making some mistakes, when attacking the ball or controlling the space behind.
But Pep knows better.
Has a third option make sense, but if we want to buy for the future, there´s better options.
We should wait until summer and bring Skriniar.

A little bird who knows La Liga well tells me this is going to happen in the next two weeks. Previously correct with our dealings in the Iberian Peninsula he got it wrong with Koke last spring - but that was before the Atletico transfer ban appeal failure.

Cheers mate....after VVD, seems the right choice and a good fit for the squad! Hopefully we get this done....
