During the summer it made a tiny bit of sense, for 6 months even less so.

He would not be a long term improvement and can only imagine we'd look to strengthen the position again after the season finishes.

I understand the need to look for cover with Kompany built the way he is etc but it would be too similar a situation to those players just gone who we couldn't shift being on big contracts; I don't see him leaving for less than a 3 year deal as it's one big, final pay day for him.

The problem though is who is not only better than him but available. There's very few players/CBs that can immediately improve this squad in the January window.

If the club can weigh up the pros and cons and decide that 6 months of average but actual cover and depth at CB is worth say £100k a week and eating an inflated transfer fee, then so be it.

I don't agree with it but I don't have to.
 
Well it looks like Coutinho to FCB will kick off this window big style!

Over the last few years the January window has been very quiet in terms of major signings, but it looks like this one could be a cracker, especially with Arsenal sweating over a top 4 finish, but facing losing Sanchez & Ozil & Chelsea moving for Barkley & showing an interest in Andy Carroll.

Moureen playing his games, has apparently backed ManUre into a corner whereby they might have to re-enter the market, so Moureen can cover his hairy arse.

If rumours are true and we are interested in Evans again, there must be younger and better players than Evans, Pep keeps saying we buy for the future, Evans would be a bit part back-up player fro a couple of seasons max.
 
Imagine the taunts we could do at the Liverpool game "You signed van Dijk... we signed Jonny Evans Johnny Evans!"

I appreciate it has become some kind of a running gag at this point, but I do genuinly hope if he does come people will support him. good player, shame about the whole ex-rag thing, but hey
