Arsenal even looking to offload Walcott, can't see them selling both Sanchez and Walcott[/QUOTE
Walcott threatens to go every window, but never does...
I would imagine LFC have spunked the Coutinho money on VVD - £75m & the obligation to buy Naby Keita - £70m.
I was talking to a deluded Dipper colleague last week, cos I thought summat was up when they bought VVD & said Coutinho needed a rest & then was injured. A football finance expert came on telly last Tuesday & said if LFC paid £75m for VVD & were committed to £70m for Keita, the only way they could afford it & avoid FFP sanctions was through player sales or a massive new sponsorship deal.
He said, there were no new sponsorship deals being mooted, so the logical thing was player sales & only Coutinho or several squad members being sold could possibly cover the cost of VVD & NK.
Southampton apparently blagged LFC & put it in the media that City had agreed a £75m deal with them & now just needed to agree personal terms with VVD, which panicked LFC into finally agreeing the £75m fee they refused to pay last season, to stop him going to City. Apparently City dropped out at £55m, so LFC got played in that respect. The £145m they'll get from FCB, is exactly what VVD & NK will cost them.
All in all, I think FCB have the player the badly wanted & LFC got 2 players who combined are of more use to them than just Coutinho.
True. When you put it like that, it sounds like they've swapped what they know, for unknown, yet to be proven players (Well where playing for LFC is concerned). And you can factor in that they are losing a first team starter in Can for nothing. This means they have in effect swapped 2 players in, VVD and Keita for 2 players out, Coutinho and Can. Doesn`t sound that impressive now.
I don't think that's a fair way to view it. VVD and Keita bring a lot more of what they are lacking, "defensive effort and energy" than what they are losing from Coutihno and Can "offensive excellence and utility." They have a lot more of the latter than the former. And you can factor in that they are losing a first team starter in Can for nothing. found this thread Aguero or Sanchez in 2011, so 6 1/2 years. http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/aguero-or-sanchez.228045/#post-4655058Is this the beginning of the end .

The only question is whether the players pan out. If CVD becomes Kompany-esque like many claim he will, and Keita brings that Kante like energy to Liverpool, they'd be significantly more difficult to play against than one with the brilliance of Coutihno and the utility of Can.

Arsenal out of the FA. @Alexis_Sanchez did not play so he will not be cup tied. Alexis is close to sign with Manchester City, but Arsenal wants 35 million and not the 20 that the City offers.
I'm thinking it'll be settled at 30.25m ?

It could also be the difference between 2/3 trophies or 1.That's still an awful lot of money for a player with less than 6 months on their contract.
