I just don’t want us to lose Sanchez to United. What’s wrong with that?

Because it makes you sound like a child who can't get his own way. In the grand scheme of things, City's future success doesn't hinge on this sort of stuff, it's all about the grand plan - which I trust our owners have got spot on.

What the fucks that got to do with anything regarding this transfer? We spent the whole summer trying to get him and to let him to to a rival over the sake of £10/15 mil I just think is embarrassing - ESPECIALLY BECAUSE ITS UNITED.

In today’s market he’s a £100 mil player. Whether we pay £20 mil or £50 mil we are still getting him for a great price - in his prime.

15 points clear or not - we shouldn’t miss an opportunity to sign a genuinely worked class player.

I'd be more embarrassed to pay £10-15m more than we think he's worth, and what we think we can get him for just because we can't face the possibility that the deal might not happen.

Well said.

Is it not refreshing that some 8 years after the sheikh rocked up, that united entering the fold doesn't bother me one bit anymore...

We shit all over them in every aspect of how a club should be run, ffs the only thing they still blabber on about is empty seats....

Dangle the carrot in front of any player in world football, today, and they choose ikkle old Man City.... fuck those red scum, we've obliterated their whole infrastructure in less than a decade!!

Spot on. Total confidence we have a game plan here.

I don't think if he chooses United, it'll be all about money. I feel he's taken a route which doesn't allow him to be at Arsenal anymore and if he's at a cross section where he can fight a couple to be at City, or take the easier route and be at United, he might end up taking United because City don't look like they're going to budge anymore and Sanchez has once established a particular demand from which he finds trouble backing out.

The ball is in United's court but City are playing a whole other game.
What has Sanchez done since Wednesday?

Mate I get how good we are and I’m not jealous or envious of United at all I despise the club, fans and everything they stand for. I’d just be gutted if we ended up losing Sanchez to them. I think he’d be unreal here.
No worries pal, I get that. I guess I’m just more relaxed about it happening or not.

We say to Arsenal ok £35m and they come back and say no it's £40m now etc etc. We can't always just pay what clubs want us to.

It has to be this. Whilst any city fan would want Sanchez to play for us, I don't think we the fans or the club are showing signs of being desperate to sign him at any price, under any circumstances. If he comes fine, if he doesn't fine. We see the Alves situation being dragged up as a parallel to what is happening here, and maybe it is, but we have adapted and flourished without him. Similarly if Sanchez comes then we have a very good addition to our squad, if he doesn't then we carry on to the end of the season and bring in a young up and coming striker to partner Jesus in the long term and continue to rely on Kun to score the goals in the meantime while the new guy beds in and comes up to speed, much as Jesus is now. Sane, Sterling and Bernardo will continue to develop and become world class while youngsters from the academy and elsewhere will follow them to maintain the quality of the squad.
Personally I prefer us not to pander to any one player at the expense of team stability, we have a great spirit in the squad, which is for me, a great part of our success and that has to be maintained at any cost.
All in all, not bothered if he comes or if he doesn't, all it will mean is that our transfer strategy will have to be tweaked to accommodate the changed circumstances come the summer.

Well said blue

Coz he basically confirmed their in for him

Its Mourinho ffs, they could have not even spoken to Sanchez or his agent and he'd come out with that. There's no reason for him to dismiss anything, not whilst he's still an Arsenal player.

So if Sanchez does end up at United, that will open up a chances for us to sign someone exciting and young in attack.Yes price will be high but I will be excited for that player.
I expect Pep to deliver in summer

No matter if Arsenal agree a price with United, if Sanchez wants to come to City he will stay at Arsenal. There's nothing Wenger or Arsenal can do about that. The only issue is whether or not Sanchez can stick another 5 months out at Arsenal or not?

City's brief to the press does sound like a club increasingly confident that Alexis Sanchez' mind is still set on joining Pep Guardiola.

Due to this, City's hand is significantly stronger than any other party in this deal (baring Sanchez). Arsenal can't force Sanchez upon United, United cannot convince Sanchez without the exception of enormous fees. It totally stinks of revenge upon Arsenal for their sh*thousery in August and u-turning on their word and that's probably why they won't up their value.

City want Sanchez, Sanchez wants City. Arsenal have no hand on the table and will eventually bow. Martin Blackburn, Sam Lee, James Robson and Jonathan Smith all believe he will still end up at City once the games have ceased.

Arsenal agreeing a deal for a replacement is probably where this move takes a further step before they bow down.
