If we buy this clown for 30 plus mil, yet we wont buy Alexis, we'll be an absolute laughing stock.
I can't fathom this. I'd rather we have Sanchez and keep Mangala than buy this twat.
Quality costs money. If you skimp and shop elsewhere you end up with rubbish!

I don’t want him on the basis of there’s better options out there. But I do worry about Mangala and Kompany being relied on, so I see a little bit of sense behind the interest. Can’t see Kompany or Mangala being here next year so we will probably see another centre back coming in the summer even if we do sign JFE this month.

Its not quite like that financially. JFE will probably cost less than £30M as that was the price last summer, his value like Sanchez has gone down hence the club arguing with the selling club. If we get JFE for £20M or even £30m if you won't accept my point we sell Mangala for probably £15M to £20M so JFE costs us very little net. No one gets sold if we buy Sanchez the outlay is the net position. Sanchez want's whatever he is asking for, we will probably pay wages of £250/£300kpw. JFE's wages would probably be £80kpw and little or no signing on fee - whereas Sanchez will want several millions. So just quoting the £30M being hawked around the media for each of them doesn't add up as being equal cost.

I don't think his price will have gone down that much, he still has 18 months to go on his contract right? As for a signing fee he will want a huge one(OK maybe not Sanchez level)but I'm sure he has a relegation release clause so he would be getting a hefty fee in the summer
