The great thing about that is, in those positions, once you get it right, you don't actually need 'freshening up' you just need more or less the same thing, over & over, forever. If we could nail it with two cbs & a keeper, we have that solid base to work round. Then it's a matter of replacing VK soon possibly with a young player & Otta in a few years time. We won't be in that position we had when Lescott went & we patched up then Zabba etc just got too old, because we have years to plan for it.

We can do all the changing players & 'freshening up' with the rest of the team.

Think Walker has 3 or 4 years left at most as a right back, possibly a few more after that as a centre half.

The hold up is the La Liga office doesn’t want to take City’s money just like they didn’t want to take PSG’s from Neymar. No but seriously if the office didn’t do it today it will happen on Monday

It’s the manager, but it doesn’t mean anything. He’s playing a semantics game. It’s abundently clear the teams are talking. Also, Sam lee just tweeted that Laporte is out of the line up for Bilbao today.

Put on their website very recently. My Spanish isn't great but I've translated what I can.

Laporte will not play against Eibar tonight according to sources after both Manchester City and the player told Bilbao that they want the transfer done soon. It's very probable that the clause will be deposited on Monday, not today. City have had people in Bilbao working on it since Wednesday. We're calm because we don't need him for the Cardiff game anyway. He'll sign a six year contract.
 
Don know much about this lad except for the youtube videos but Pep has improved everyone of our defenders (including Mangala) so this guy looks like he already s a decent player so should be a great addition...time to bed him in swapping him in and out of the squad with Stones and Otto...(mainly Otto as it gives him a rest everyone and again.....

Interesting when Mendy is back to see how we play and set up our defence however.....
