Riyad Mahrez

We cannot pay crazy money or the panic buy after losing Sanchez will be the line the press adopt.

I think it would be a bit of a panic buy tbh. Does he have the commitment and desire that Pep looks for in a player? I've never seen him bother trying to press our defend.

They'd also have a field day if we broke our transfer record in back to back days!

Player will have to force a move.

We won’t pay stupid money for him.

We are not that desperate.

Crazy money ?

Anything below 50m would probably be a bargain considering that
1- it's January,
2 - Leicester owners don't exactly need the money and
3 - Coutinho leaving for thrice that amount.
I don't see us paying crazy money. The only chance I see this happening is if Mahrez pisses off Leicester just enough to force a way out.

They will not care that it was the wages and our pay structure and not a transfer fee as they have not taken that in and keep saying we could have afforded him.

Sorry I do not understand why anyone would care so much about what the bloody press say that they don't want a transfer to happen in case it's labelled a panic buy.

Do you think it could happen so quickly though??.. They’d need to bring a replacement in surely...
They have a replacement already in the young lad Diabate just signed from France and scored 2 at the weekend. Puell says he's not ready to replace Mahrez but watch this space as Mahrez kicks off big style

We got them to pay £25m for Iheanacho, if we want Mahrez this window then they'll bend us over a barrel after that.

Plus, I wouldn't see it as a panic buy. We obviously want another forward and would, I'm assuming, chase Mahrez in the summer too so it may just be chancing our arm now at the expense of a few million more. Plus at this point, a league medal is more nailed on than in the summer so he may push it.

I think we care as a club and stood by principles over what Sanchez did and we deserve respect for that.

Won't stop us paying what we have to here, I expect. But not the kind of sum that would be hard to justify.
