Sloppy defending for the first 10 mins but Kompany and Delph were clearly a bit rusty to start. Once Ota and Kompany had sorted out who was doing what though, it went pretty well at the back. We were always dominant though and some great goals.
Bernardo Sliva was excellent for me and MOTM. Great to see him come good,
Kevin though is simply the best player in the world for me at the moment. Some of his decision making is incredible.
Could have really put them to the sword lets but save that for the home tie.

We just beat a decent European team 4-0 on their own patch, a team that don't often lose against English teams, we are 99.99999% in the last 8 of the premier European tournament, 16 points ahead in the premier league, in a domestic final and 3 or 4 games from an FA cup final, really what do people want!

Christ we have just basically finished off the tie in the first leg and people are picking faults.

In years to come the record books will show a 4-0 win and nobody will care what went on in the game.

Just ask the Scum about that when they first won the European Cup, Eusebio missed a clear chance to win the game for Benfica but shot straight at Stepney and the rest is history.

Good for you, put words in my mouth based on fuck all. I'm very rarely negative about City, but at the same time I'm not going to pretend that defensive performance was anywhere near the standard we have set this season, or the standard required for us to win the CL. It was a let off.

Pep has also stated we could have been 2-0 down before we scored and weren't at our best defensively, is he also desperate for us to get knocked out?

He's obviously going to end up playing centrally, but as Lampard pointed out, he's starting to bring something different to our speedsters Sane & Sterling.

I reckon another couple of seasons & we'll really know what he's made of. I suffer David Silva anxiety. I know he can't go on forever, but outside of Xavi & Ali Benarbia in his prime, I've seen few players who can do what David Silva does.

Can Bernardo Silva finally begin to reduce my Silva anxiety?

I can’t speak for anyone else but my concerns have nothing to do with that or “giving 100%”. It was about some of the bad decisions we were making toward the end that lead to good chances for Basel.

And I am positive Pep will have noted them as well and will be working on them with the team.
