Honest question about City, which I'm sure has been asked/answered countless of times over the years:

Why did ADUG decide to acquire Manchester City out of all possible clubs in England? Wouldn't Aston Villa or Leeds United make more sense based on market/potential fan base?

Also.

Also the fact that Manchester United are recognisable worldwide. I think they hoped people wouldn’t notice the one word difference.

City more than hold their own with anyone when it comes to fan base in England (the pathetic little bellend has obviously never been to villa park in the colour TV era) - what we don't have yet is hordes of plastic day trippers like them. OT was hardly packed pre-PL.

The level of ignorance about football history in England from modern day fanboys is incredible. Our average attendances for the last 100 years have virtually always been higher than Leeds and Villa. Leeds have never achieved average gates over 40,000 and were formed almost 50 years after we were. Virtually all of Villa's success was before 1918. It is truly bizarre. Everton and Spurs are much bigger than Leeds or Villa. City and Arsenal were the best supported clubs in the 1930s and we have almost always been in the top six in England...even when we were in Div 2.

They use 'oil money' specifically as a euphemism for 'Arab' which would get them called out as racist.

It is the sign of an weak mind set. Everyone else's fault, you create arbitrary standards such as where the money comes from for example. These are the last avenue's of self comfort for the insecure. You can bet your last penny their mother still does their washing at any rate :-)

It's tiresome in the extreme but in typical rag fashion their continued use of this phrase is because the bitter bastards choose to believe the lie that City have unlimited amounts of 'sugar daddy' money made available for player purchases with no financial consequences and that we're still running at a loss and contravening FFP.
