I can't take a great deal of pleasure from how he was tonight, its sad to see for me, no matter what he's said about us, we should remember that he is like Pep, and has always tried to play football the way most of us want to see, and Pep is now doing exactly what he aspired to do.
Thierry Henry summed it up tonight, saying he must feel bad, because what he wanted was a team like ours, playing the way we play, and he never really achieved it fully, despite creating some great arsenal teams a few years ago, but now he's been pretty much humiliated twice in 5 days, by the very football he aspired to.
As for the club, and most of their fans, tough shit, they are one of the most, and worst, of the self appointed "superior to you" bunch there is, so I've little sympathy there, and that turn out tonight from their fans was pathetic, even if it was quoted at over 58,000.

18:30 onwards bit of a barney between Keown and Neil Ashton
I see your point, but I'm talking about the football, he tried to do what Pep is doing (and most said he couldn't do), but he did try to play beautiful football, and I recognise that, and applaud him for it, just like I do Pep. He would have sustained it if his club had backed him financially, and despite all his whinging about City, I still can applaud him for at least wanting to play football the right way.Fuck that. He lost any sympathy I had for him when he outright called Sterling a cheat. Age happens, look at Toure, it's the game. I don't see why anyone should feel sorry for him, even if he wasn't the type to come out with shite about our club that is none of his business.
Agree with this.I see your point, but I'm talking about the football, he tried to do what Pep is doing (and most said he couldn't do), but he did try to play beautiful football, and I recognise that, and applaud him for it, just like I do Pep. Do I like him ? No not really, he's a moaning f**ker, and he's become a bit of a parody now. He needs to retire, but at least his football ideals are right, we should like that.
I agree partly with this but i feel he gave up being purely football and morphed into an ambiguous football blob about 12 years ago. As soon as he thought "eh up i can rule this place" the football became second fiddle to him keeping a level of absolute power. By default that keeps him in football at a high level artificially. Wenger had a huge get out of jail card to with the stadium cost which gave him at least 5 years breathing room. About 6-7 years ago when he seemed happy to stay on not investing and seemingly taking the mentality of a tight arse cash hungry director was when Arsenal fans should have been really worried imo.I see your point, but I'm talking about the football, he tried to do what Pep is doing (and most said he couldn't do), but he did try to play beautiful football, and I recognise that, and applaud him for it, just like I do Pep. That's because realistically you weren't a big club then. Only Liverpool, Utd and a few others were considered big clubs. It's only now you're looking at being a big club. Of course you weren't gonna expect to win anything. Do Villa fans expect to win the premier league every other season? My heart really bleeds for these loud mouthed Cockney Gooner.......(fill in as appropriate)
Come back to us when Arsenal have won nothing in 34 years, and Arsenal end up in Division 3.
You self-righteous mugs don't know what football misery and supporting a poor and struggling team is really like
Just like United fans and Liverpool fans, Arsenal fans live in the past.
They think because of their status and #istory, the don't deserve to be where they are, and they think they have a divine right to be in the top 4, and challenging for trophies, and the PL and CL titles.
You Arsenal fans are just as deluded as Wenger.
F*** off!
Yeah, good post, I'm not sure its all down to him though, I think their board lacked ambition, and I'm sure he would have spent the extra penny had it been offered, but he really did morph into an accountant in recent years.I agree partly with this but i feel he gave up being purely football and morphed into an ambiguous football blob about 12 years ago. They have taken 3 steps forward and 2 steps back in the grand scheme of things footballing wise i feel and need not have been that way for them.
In his early years he did a great deal of good for the English game, indeed he dragged us into the modern game almost single handed. For that i do applaud him. It has been a long drawn out death though in the end and not the re-emergence of a great footballing force. I think that is the killer, he took the side of Kroenke. A hungry Wenger would have said "right, stadium sorted, give me 200mil now". They could have financed that surely 7 years ago and i am sure as as i can be they would not find themselves with the 10 year rebuild i think they need now. I saw they needed it with us emerging and Utd at the end of bacon, it was a prime chance to stay right in it in the long run imo and fucked it with Wenger running it all or at best has a meeting of minds with Kroenke.
We were always a "big club", we just happened to be shite at football at that point. That's because realistically you weren't a big club then.
He certainly took the extra pennies when offered hehe.Yeah, good post, I'm not sure its all down to him though, I think their board lacked ambition, and I'm sure he would have spent the extra penny had it been offered, but he really did morph into an accountant in recent years.
Ironically I thought they had a great transfer window in January, and that might be proven correct in the longer term.
It would, and I suspect Wenger has been the victim of it. I suspect he will tell his story once he's gone.It would be interesting to be a fly on the Arsenal boardroom wall, that much i do know.

It would be interesting to be a fly on the Arsenal boardroom wall, that much i do know. Utd's we know has a helium gas canister and different shaped balloons for Ed to entertain himself with after signing a new radiator gunk dissolving partner.
Our boardroom is empty because they had the meeting 3 days ago instead and are now about 7-8 steps ahead of where you thought they were.
Chelsea's has Roman checking the news 24/7 to see if Putin has decided he doesn't like him anymore and a 100% ban on umbrellas at the stadium.Liverpools boardroom overlooks the carpark and everyone is to anxious to do anything due to the gang of lads in hoodies eying their motors up. Everyone at Anfields board room is in agreement board meetings should be held in Manchester or London from now on!
That could easily be in a squires cartoon. Levy walking away from "The Bank of Madrid" smiling whilst Perez walks of with Kane in cuffs with a bit of radiator pipe stuck in them. The previous cartoon is obviously the spurs boardroom with them all happy pointing to a chart depicting Kane in handcuffs on the radiator.and Tottenhams is full of models of stadiums gradually getting smaller and more conservative as Scholar realises the costs involved...............oh and there are some handcuffs attached to the radiator which will become Harry Kanes summer home.
