One accepted untruth in football is Mourinho went to a shit Inter and won the cl through his sheer brilliance alone. Just take a quick google of that squad he got at Inter, it is a dream team almost. This was a fantastic team seriously under performing. If the Italians have one thing it is a deep tactical positional attitude to the game, add Mourinho to that and it is a match made in heaven. That squad had the skill and nouse to win a cl, they just needed direction which Mourinho gave.

At utd he has Pogba who takes up a very important position for his style. If you think of a bit of mechano you built as a kid that had some flexibility but could revert back to it's primary shape with ease. Pogba especially is a wayward hinge that stops that primary shape coming back together for example when they are being countered and need a solid defensive shape quick. Pogba is rarely where he should be in high tempo pieces of play and for Mourinho's percentage football this is a really big issue. It compromises everything when he relies on players being inch perfect ready to pounce and create a solid defensive barrier.

All that goes to say Mourinho has hurdles he could do without. As much as Woodward will have patted himself on the back for getting Pogba and getting very friendly calls of sponsors noting their pleasure at the deal. He has also placed obstacles in the managers way. Keeping Pogba happy but keeping him out the way of big matches without having a huge press thing kick off etc. It is almost a job in its self managing the dabber let alone the rest of the team. Matic bless his cotton socks is a decent player who has a mistake in him these days but over all is decent. He can see he needs to cover Pogba but simply does not have the legs for it, he never has had any really and what he did have are already gone.

Then you look elsewhere on the pitch and see no clear idea or structure anywhere else either really; that it is not just Pogba. Players bought simply to frustrate rivals at extreme expense; players stagnating when they should be really kicking on or at least finding some identity in their play, they are not. Their players look like they are at 100% just keeping their shit together on the pitch. How can they be expected to help out someone who is such a positionaly poor player in such a major position if they are barely keeping their own head above water?

They may be second but i think hey are going full steam ahead this season, the ducks feet can go no faster. Some here think you could give Pep that Utd squad and they would be where we are now; i don't think that is right.
Rashford is a very basic and limited player, Martial should have his face on the side of a milk carton, Mata is agar jelly, an inert base of blandness; Fellaini is just limited and tries his best; opta need a theodolite to get accurate stats on Matic with their keeper likely to be their player of the season for the 4th year running. They would be much better but i doubt they would be meeting us eye to eye, we have exceptional individual talents. Martial and Rashford will never be as good a pair as Sterling and Sane for example, they just don't have it in them. This is before we get to David Silva, KDB, fernandinho, Walker etc.

For a team that finds it's self in second i don't think they could ask for much more unless they did indeed have a Pep clone.

Also I think we have a team of 'clever' footballers - Silva, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Kompany etc.- that can adjust to the game and iron out any problems on the pitch. United don't seem to have any players like that now Carrick has gone - its almost sad that an aging Ashley Young is about the nearest they have.

Ragcafe in a meltdown lmao.. funny thing they are all hating on Sanchez right now and he would have been so much better suited to play for us but he wanted one last big payday lol have fun with that 30yr old lol
Sanchez didn't go for the money as their players go to make history.
I saw a banner about it once.
Must get some Seville oranges to take into work.

Show some fucking respect you lot to the biggest and best supported club in the world......................

History makers that continue to make history!

Just watched Sevilla's 2nd goal again and De Gea completely fucked up doing one of his 'saves for the camera' routine. Last night was beautiful.

Forgetting the money, Sanchez signing for Utd when he likely had an option of you guys a few months later and still be very well paid must be up there with 1 of the worst football decisions ever.

He would certainly have been better at City, would he have made City better though, very highly debatable.

What about those comments from mourinho . It’s like he is giving a challenge to the club, a I am bigger than you message.

I wouldnt be happy about being knocked about and then in the press conference mock the club about how I have knocked them out twice before.

He is a horrible twat.

They're an absolute mess. They're a team lacking any style, rhythm or even direction. Pogba, Sanchez, Martial, Rashford etc are not bad players, They're badly coached in a team that has no set plan or idea to win a game.

It’s not always about the money, but compared to the fortunes they have spent (or wasted, depending how you wanna look at it) you’d expect more. If they would’ve gone out the way Spurs went out vs Juventus, they might have had some credit and probably earned it ... feck me ... Anyway, there is also a manager that for starters was given the job because their board felt he was the only one able to stand up vs Pep. And was given players that we were supposedly after and they could do one over us, or players good for promotional matters ( except Adidas will be kicking themselves with the man that choose them over us being fired long ago).
What’s left is a side with loads of individuals managed by someone who has the ability to set the team up to unsettle the opponent, but who is overly afraid to go out all attack to try and get a result or at least show their paying customers mainly from the London suburbs to somehow enjoy themselves in the stands or in front of the tellly and laptops.

It’s not a surprise now is it. This has been coming and the fact it doesn’t happen often these days (there is still enough quality left to get results by playing the way they do) doesn’t cover the cracks that have been appearing over the last 7 or 8 years. Ferguson left a thin ice surface, Moyes and Van Gaal sacked through it like a brick, and with the current manager they still wait for the surface to freeze to be able to hold them again. It’s been a slowly yet ongoing proces. Them winning all that silverware last season again gave a totally false impression to whoever is still stating the manager is building a side that will bring back the days of former glory. Yes, there are still people around who actually think this. totally failing to see what their manager has been doing in the past. Winning silverware for himself and leave behind a destructed work to be rebuild completely.

Now let’s not dwell too long and get on with our own matters. They are still able to park their bus in a way they can actually stop us from winning. And that thought will always rule with their manager. Not the thought of going at us and try to make it a spectacle where his team deserves credit but the opponent running away with the result. If anyone think they will be kicked out of the FA cup this weekend and we will batter them 3 or 4-0, I very much doubt it’ll happen. Yet the proces will continue and there is hardly an icy patch left on the surface.

Not normally one for picking up Red Cafe comments but couldn't resist sharing this one.

Mourinho is a saboteur. He's also a born winner. His primary focus is ensuring we get as many points as possible in the league so it doesn't look like we're too far off City by the end of the season, and we finish second.

He also wants the cup and will go all out to win it. I think he knows we're not good enough to win the champions league so he's sacrificed it. Yes, that's right he's sabotaged his own team. Most of the time he sabotages the opposition but sometimes if he thinks it will be better in the long run he will sabotage his own side. Why be so blasé about going out to Seville? Why drop McTominay and start Fellaini? Lingard hasn't played in the league much, why start him? Why swap Rashford out to the right? Why drop Mata? Why? It's because he knows it's better to save the legs for the league and FA cup. At the end of the season we will be second and might win the FA Cup. In the summer he will add the players he wants and next season he will win the league, league cup, champions league and FA Cup. This is Mourinho's mentality. People shouldn't underestimate him.

You see, it's all part of the master plan! I think it's a joke based on the quadruple prediction, but others are taking the sabotage part seriously.

Bloody hell. That poster needs to see a doctor.

Still can't get over Ian Darke's "Remember 0-0 is good enough for Manchester United" comment. Sums BT Sport up really.

Said it before and will say it again. This united team are vastly over-rated and are punching above their weight in the league. Their 2nd position behind us just shows the flaws in the rest of the league becuase they should not actually be anywhere near the top four

Liverpool, chelsea, spurs should be ashamed and so should some of the the top half teams who seem to think the nostalgia of that shit club holds some kind of sway over the game. They are shit and can be beaten easily, occassionally they may throw in a half decent performance for a result but thats about as good as it gets for them
