Friendly challenge - name 19 better Premier League players. Bearing in mind quality, consistency, longevity and professionalism.
I can’t think of a single 1 to better David Silva.

That’s difficult to answer as there have been many great players to grace the league over the years, and how do you determine quality?

But I don’t believe Silva would be in many people’s greatest ever Premier League eleven.

With the exception of our fans, I think most would include Schmeichel, Ronaldo, Giggs and Henry.

He wouldn't be in a lot of peoples best 11, but they would be wrong. I wouldn't expect a City fan or for that a Spanish fan , just look at his international record, to make that same mistake.

I know a few decent United fans and David Silva makes them shit their pants when they play us.

I bet if you asked the game going knowledgeable fans who shits them up most over the years, Silva & Aguero would be right up there.

Giggs! Poor man's Leroy Sane.

My favourite, best to grace our shirt. Totally mesmerising and untouchable on his day, even unplayable on a bad day.

Got a sneaky feeling this is going to be a season to remember which I hope and keep my fingers crossed for, that he is instrunmental in us winning the CL along with the prem and the league cup which we have in the bag already

David Silva - Legend and genius

When ever we play the scum a mate of mine who goes home and away watching the rags always says.
Silva is the player he fears the most.
Also says hes far and away the best player in the league

He is 32 and has two years left on his contract and, for me, if his ankle bears up and he is happy to remain in Manchester, there's no reason why he couldn't play until he's 35/36. This thought makes me very happy.

The Home and Away legs v Liverpool are where he needs to step up. We need him at his very best.

needs to step up have you not been watching city lately?.
Yes. However, Anfield is somewhere we need to produce. I think he's having his best season for us, and I'm hoping that will continue in the CL against the Dippers.

Henry and Bergkamp are the 2 who would be up there with him. When you are talking about the top, top players, it is hard to separate them.
Henry was something really special. For me he is the best ever premier league player.

The call of The Canaries May be too strong for that, especially with Mateo in the picture now.

Traditionally, City have never retired shirts (with a sole exception), because teams played 1-11. However, with squad numbers now, I would love to see City retire 42 this season, and 21 when David makes his swan song. Their contribution to where we are now is immeasurable. Both are City giants (one literally, one figuratively), and lynchpins of their national teams.

It's a nice gesture, but surely would lead to the retirement of the number 10 shirt of Aguero, possibly the no. 4 shirt too. As daft as it sounds, we may struggle to attract certain players if certain shirts weren't available. 42 or 21, no worries but the number 10 shirt? Zabba's shirt? Harts?

David Silva is the best player we've had in my lifetime, but I'm only 37. He deserves special recognition. For me, the biggest tribute the club could pay is a redevelopment/improvemention/funding of the department where Mateo is recovering, naming it the David Silva ward or similar. For SERGIO/Ya Ya, others of the like, start foundations in their names in their home towns. Lasting meaningful tributes to their careers.
